We're Mike and Angel (and our dog Jilly). Welcome to our channel:)

Our goal is to help other RVers find a good place to go camping. We're doing the "Recon" so you don't have to! In our videos we do a campground drive thru, and during the campground drive thru we share the things we've done in our stay in the area and then we'll finish our video with a detailed site walk around.

WE DO THIS FOR EVERY PLACE WE VISIT...
EVERY CAMPGROUND
EVERY SITE
EVERY TIME

We love to get out and explore the country. If you watch our videos, you will see us laughing and having fun on our adventures. We also hope you find us entertaining so feel free to laugh at us. :) Please share our channel with any one who would benefit from watching our videos! We'd appreciate it :)

If you find value in the information we share please consider subscribing. Subscribing to our channel will help us to help you:)

Thanks for watching,
Mike and Angel

Very nice video of the Bogue Chitto State Park. I have ridden mountain bikes their on the trails and it was spectacular, but that was several years ago. They have really done an outstanding job with this park. State parks have always been my some of my favorite camping destinations. I'm glad I live only 20 minutes away. I will make plans to revisit soon with my grandsons.

My update on the plastic seals in those aluminum corner edgings. Those plastic inserts are there to cover the screws holding the aluminum trim which covers/hides the seams on (usually) corners. They have a limited life. They are only lightly UV protected, they will dry out and they will shrink. They are the reason water gets into those Trims and the screws start to rust. This is also the path water takes, after the screws rust (rust is porus, so water will weep along the rust path) the path that water will take and begin to rot your camper wood. Even if this product did damage to those plastic inserts, its a good thing to replace them periodically to keep water out and away from the screws. As for the Awesome, I'm going to try it as soon as I get some. My Camper gets those dark streaks, I am assuming they are dirt from the rain water, because I dont have any black rubber in the areas the streaks are coming from. Should this work as well as you illustrated, I will be a happy camper. Thanks for the idea and the video.
@RetroRVRecon
@RetroRVRecon 2 дня назад
Hey lifequest. Thanks for the information on the inserts, its a big help to me and other folks reading these comments. I think you're going to be happy with the T.A, it works very well on the black (dirt) streaks. I try not to use it on much else (camper) but only because I'm not too sure. Thanks again, lifequest, for the information and for watching our video. Mike and Angel

Those Honda generators are tanks too. I bought one 15 years ago, the eu3000is, and it has hundreds if not thousands of hours on it and it still fires up with one pull after all this time. It's still very quiet. Just break it in properly, change the oil regularly and it will literally last forever! They are expensive but it will be the last generator you buy if you buy the size you need and your needs don't change.

Mike and Angel, I was surfing RU-vid when I came across this video from several years ago. What a beautiful park! We’re like you guys when it comes to cold weather camping because we really enjoy it so much more than hot summer camping. Carol and I are really looking forward to fall weather and sitting around a campfire. We hope you are both doing well!

Hey Doug! Its good to hear from yall again. Yup, we really enjoy the cooler weather for camping. I guess we like the snuggling by the campfire. ☺❤☺ We haven't been to that State Park in a while. Its nice and quiet. We find the older section has a nice "In the woods" feel to it. Some of the sites were a little beat up but nothing to stop us from going. Yall have a great week Doug and tell Carol hello too. We're glad to hear yall found and watched our video, Doug.😃 Happy Trails & Happy Camping Mike and Angel

Campgrounds look great! 94 is a good looking site. When we road through last time we were there 94 looks like it could be tough to get out of if the campground was full with cars in that lot. And we were in the last site past 56 and watch an alligator swim to the point and just sit there for about 30 minutes and then swim back to north end of the lake.
@RetroRVRecon
@RetroRVRecon 11 дней назад
Hey Thomas. Yeah, we have a smaller camper (20') so getting in and out of those smaller spots isn't too much of an issue. We stayed in site 56 a while back, its an excellent site too. It must be me, lol. I hardly ever see alligators when we go camping. I used to have to paddle around them while fishing some years back (down da bayou), but camping...no luck! We enjoy looking for them everywhere we go 😄😄😄 Thanks, Thomas, for watching our video. Happy Trails & Happy Camping Mike and Angel

Thank you for publishing this video. I live near Liberty, which is the next town west of Percy Quin and the local McComb paper did several articles about the improvements but focused mainly on the cabins. If I am camping local I prefer the isolation of Clear Springs (which you covered earlier) in the Homochitto Forest, but I may have to try Percy Quin when the temps drop. Fontainebleau looks nothing like I remember. My Daddy and Mother used to take me there when I was a pre-teen until 13. I remember that Nixon resigned while we were there. Dayyd said we were roughing it because we had black & white TV. The last time I took my family there, tent camping, the raccoons stole all our groceries. Had to buy again. I have tent equipment but really would like to get a trailer. Daddy had a 27' , 1973 Terry. We loved it. Spoiled us. There used to be a swimming pool. I hear Katrina took it out. So many memories. I'll go back with Grandchildren soon I hope. God willing. Love watching Y'all. Keep it up and may God Bless.

We were able to get a spot the first weekend they opened. While the renovations are so nice and it’s a beautiful campground and the camp store being opened is great…keep in mind the bathhouses have not been redone for those that need to use the facilities. Oh, and as mentioned, there’s alligators in the north end of the lake. And we were told the pool with be opened, but not this season. However, there is a small beach area with swimming available. We have reserved a spot and will be there the week of Thanksgiving…can’t wait!

WOW...I can't believe the completely unprofessional people that runs this RV Park!!! SHAME ON THE OWNERS FOR ALLOWING PEOPLE LIKE THIS TO ACT SO INAPPROPRIATE!!! NOTE: The one star is a huge stretch! But Harry that greeted us was very nice and informational as well, as you will see in this review. We arrived at this location on time for a 9 day stay August 2024. We had a couple questions that Harry couldn't answer before he took us to our site. He warned us about the office ladies and said they were in a good mood this morning and to bring chocolate to get answers to our questions. We laugh for a moment thinking that's weird and then Harry took us to our site. We have a 31' class A rv and they put us in a very tight site close to a large tree which seemed ok until we parked in space #37. The smell of sewage was overwhelming. We looked at the water hookup and dump area and there was feces, used TP paper and ? all over the ground. We proceeded to report this to the lady behind the desk in the office. She had an attitude right out of the gate and told us it was ok and not a sewer problem. First lie! We told her we were not going to stay in the sewage dump area. With an attitude, she said we could use the "Emergency site #53" so we walked over to take a look. It was very very tight for our Rv and jeep, but it was the only site they said was available even though the campground had many open sites. We went back to the rv at site #37 and watched the 2 worker shovelling up the dirt, tp, and ? from that site and putting it into a 5 gal bucket like it's something they have done before! We waited and watched. Then they put down Chlorine chunks on the ground to mask the smell. 10 minutes later, No one told us to wait there to be escorted to the next site #53, so I proceeded to move our RV out of the way of the digging, over to that site as my wife went back to the office to let the woman know we would try #53 site if that was OK and that I was headed to the new site with my our RV. WELL, Nothing like being greeted by a GM in a robe giving my wife all sorts of attitude with her posture and language threatening and telling us to not move the RV. My wife asked why and the Old red headed lady "GM in a robe" said we needed to be escorted. My wife said OK but no one told us! This old lady snapped at my wife in a very disturbing manor. She came back to our RV upset and told me the store. What a mess! we weren't onsite more than 20 minutes and they showed their asses! WAY TO GO OWNERS! The 2 guys that I guess were supposed to escort us were too busy digging up feces and dirt so maybe they forgot...? 2 days went by and we did not have enough room for our tow vehicle to park correctly. So on Monday morning Aug.12th, 9:00 AM, I went to the office to ask if they could move us to a better spot and we would pay the difference. Site K was available per what the website was offering. I asked the woman behind the counter if we could take that site. OUT OF THE GATE SHE HAD AN ATTITUDE BIG TIME!!! She said the sites were only for big rigs 42' long. I said ok but there is a fifth wheel out there now that's the same size as our Rv and my question was can I reserve the site for next year. She again asked me the size of our setup. I told her with tow we are 42'. I told her our rig was 31' and then she throw her hands in the air sat back in her chair and called me a liar! 3 times calling me a liar! The Old red headed lady in a robe approach me and said if I wasn't OK with the site, she would reimburse us and we would need to leave. I proceeded to address the ruud woman behind the counter and then told the GM that we had sewage smell at the site, allot of mudd and the water smells, this was at site #53, "Emergency site" The Old red headed GM lied and said the backup in site #37 was leafs! I laughed and said she was full of it because I was there and both the workers admitted it. Lie #2. I told them I was not happy and will make different accommodations and will let them know. Before I was done with them, another Park GM told me he was in charge of the park and asked me about the sewer smell at our site. I asked him what his position was and he said he was the onsite engineer...CJ. I told him I was an engineer as well and he asked me what type of engineer and I told him. The next words out of his mouth were insults. I let it go! He proceeded to show his ass by trying to tell me how an open tank will allow smells into your home or RV, This guys obviously was from another country with his silly hat and sandals! I told him that's why we have drain traps right, he nodded. Again SILLY! later that day we had another guy ask us to move our jeep 4 feet into our site, he told us he was the Park GM. That's 3 GM's. I moved the jeep back and forth because there was no room. Lastly. We set up new accommodations somewhere else and I called the office to let them know we were leaving 4 days early and to refund us for those days. 20 minutes after we left the park, we received a text stating that we had filled the sewage drain tube with rocks and that we were going to be reported to some entity and have to pay for the drain repair/snaking. So they have sewage backups and are trying to blame the customers! So we will report this park to every entity available to us letting people know about our experience and to beware! As a side note: when you arrive to a so called "RV resort" and you see the entrance all broken up and mud puddles, pool closed and lack of effort to the upkeep of the site, turn around and leave! The hwy 550 is very loud as well! THIS PLACE SUCKS AND SHAME ON THE OWNERS!

Hey Kevin. We love it too. Lucky for you to have an awesome campground close to home. Some friends or ours suggested it and they sure we spot on about it being nice. Thanks, Kevin, for watching our video. Happy Trails & Happy Camping! Mike and Angel

You guys are great! I have the Champion Dual fuel Inverter 4250, it’s much louder than the claimed 64 dB, on the heavy side, and not so practical for my camping needs but fine for home use. However the dual fuel feature is great to have. Looking for something that can run the soft-start AC in the event of a power outage in a camp ground, or if we do an overnight in a parking lot somewhere, recharge batteries, I can lift into and out of the truck, and runs quiet. I’m thinking seriously about getting the Honda 2200i. Thanks !

Hey Rory. Thank you. I haven't actually heard (no pun intended😄) any of the Champion Inverter generators yet. I bet the 4250 is great for around the house for a power outage (hurricane). Around here in the Deep South we all need to be very mindful of what works more than what is quiet.😁 Talking to friends and reading replies to this video, a lot of folks like the Champion brand generators, including me. The Honda's are good, then so are the Champions. Honda's are just a bit quieter, for camping. Thank you Rory for watching our video! Mike and Angel

Hey Eric. Thank you for the kind words☺. Ya know, thats all we hope to do is to help other folks enjoy life. We try to make finding a campground that suits your/our needs easier, plus, its fun for us! 🙂 We enjoyed that campground and its proximity to the north entrence. And...we enjoyed passing it by while rafting in the Yellowstone River too😀. Thank you so much, Eric, for watching our video. Mike and Angel

Hey Blankverse. Thank you!☺ It took us two other generators before we were really happy with the 3000IS. It still works very well. Well, all three of them do but we still prefer the 3000IS.😃 Thanks for watching our video!! Mike and Angel
