This is an excellent guide. TGM1 is now officially available on Switch and Playstation. Emulation is great, but it's also nIce to be able to reward the game devs and let them know you want another game! :)
I mean given recent events I should feel obligated to post an update on 1st December. Apart from that: yes, if the content doesn't depend on recent events there's a small but steady stream of people coming in
@@d4nin3u I was just thinking this morning also to start doing some tuto, I actually prepare some visuals to cover the fundamentals of TGM timings and the skillstops. We should see in the coming future a significant arrival of new players who will quickly discover that they can't achieve nothing serious from a PS4 or Switch controller.
It's book knowledge for me: I remember it if I think about it for a while but I don't use it in games. I'm happy with my 0-500 game atm, I really need to grind 20G now though
@@d4nin3u Yes your start was powerful, but your timings need improvement. You should get to 9min20 quickly. And start learning skillstop, you will not regret it.
i got tgm 1 and 2 working just fine using shmupmametgm, but when trying to run tgm3 launcher it will show up as a black screen for a little bit before crashing, i tried running as admin and running in xp compatibility mode but it doesn't help much at all. Is there any solution to this or do i just have like a bad copy?
you probably don't need this anymore, but going to send the solution here anyways, maybe for other people with the same problem. The solution is fairly simple: you're probably using laptop and on almost every laptop there's integrated graphics card and dedicated one. If you're getting black screen and the game crashes right away, the chance is that your laptop uses integrated graphics as a default GPU, therefore the game doesn't like it, and crashes. To fix it you should go to Control Panel of your dedicated GPU (to look up what your GPU is you can go to device manager) and change the settings so the game uses dedicated GPU (look up how to do it in google, since it depends on if your card is by AMD or NVIDIA). Same applies to desktop PCs with CPUs that have integrated graphics. There's a chance that you won't have a dedicated graphics (in that case you're probably using desktop PC and your only way is just to go and buy one), but that's what helped me (there might be other problems than that).
I'm getting a Launch Game.bat instead of a tgm_launcher.exe for my game install. My keybindings also don't work, in fact, none work except for the insert coin button. What do?
did you download altinput.zip? That contains the tgm_launcher.exe. You could run typex_config to configure key bindings for what you have right now, but that has worse input lag so use altinput if you can
@@d4nin3u TGM 3 was ran on the Taito Type X arcade system, which actually was a embedded Windows XP, and there are other games that also ran on the TTX, and has a similar trick: Street Fighter 4 (2008) Blazblue (2008) King of Fighters XII and XIII (2009-2010) Battle Fantasia (2007) King of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match (2008) Giga Wing Generations (2004) Power Instinct 5 (also known as Goketsuji Ichizoku Matsuri Senzo Kuyou)(2009) Otomedius (ran on the Konami PC Based)(2007) Silent Hill: The Arcade (ran on the Konami PC Based)(2007) Arcana Heart 2 (ran on the Examu EX-BOARD)(2008) Daemon Bride (ran on the Examu EX-BOARD)(2009) Arcana Heart 3 (ran on Examu EX-BOARD)(2009) and finally Chaos Breaker (2004) Note that Examu EX-BOARD, and Konami PC Based are also made to be Windows XP embedded. And even loaders like Arcade PC Loader and Teknoparrot have the ability to run them perfectly. I even have TGM 3, and it runs gorgeous, in fact I got all of these games I mentioned here, which are the same results. What do you think of all of this, with the fun facts, and the list?
