I had bad memories of Zumaic Exodus, Dark Vortex, Snake Pit, Mirror Serpent, Shrine of Quetzalcoatl and Landing Pad. Bad memories aside, I enjoyed your video as much as I remember enjoying the game last year and 6 years ago
There are no comic book scene in the first game aside from maybe an intro / outro ( I don't remember). The scene shown was from the second game's extra campaign.
0:48 I'll add that you should never run a .exe file if you're downloading a rom. It should be a .zip or .rar file that contains the rom (also not a .exe file) As mentioned, ROMs are read only memory, not processes.
We did “rom” hacks back in the early 80s already to give games on the commodore the ability to be loaded from disk instead of cartridge. To add infinite lives or level selects. And we in the cracker community weren’t even new because serious, hacks were done in companies already to maintain binary software. I think hacks are as old as debuggers.
I still play Zuma from time to time. But I changed some sounds. I changed the UFO's sound from that "OOOOOOH!!!" to the whirring noise of a BESAM PowerSwing hydraulic swing door operator that runs on 230V 50Hz, the bomb sound has been replaced with a better sound effect, the slowdown sound with me saying "Langsam!" (=Slow!), the reverse sound with "Andersrum!" (=Other direction!), the accuracy sound with "Ich kann zielen!" (=I can aim!), "IKACHAKAZUMA!" with "Mach dich bereit!" (=Get ready!), the sound when the stars reach the skull (WOAH!) with "Los!" (=Go!), when the bar turns green with me saying "Zuma!", the "IKAZUMA!" with "Level geschafft!" (=Level complete!), "LAAAHSOBY!" (Stage complete) with "Stufe abgeschlossen!" (=Stage completed!), the temple completion sound with "Tempel abgeschlossen!" (=Temple completed!), the life loss chant with "Leben verloren!" (=Life lost!) and the Game Over sound with me saying "Game over!".
You're going to have to update this video to include (N64) recompilation now, which will likely be pursued for other game consoles too since it allows these games to run on even less-demanding hardware and allows for mods, expansions, and editors to a degree that is simply not possible with emulators.
7:48 To be fair, he didnt just beat Emerald Kaizo, he beat it in a Nuzlocke playthrough a Nuzlocke challenge consists of three basic rules: Any Pokémon that faints must be released or boxed permanently. It is considered “dead” for the rest of the challenge. Only the first wild Pokémon encountered in a route or area can be caught. If the player fails to catch it (ie. it flees or faints), their opportunity to catch a Pokémon in that area is lost. The player must nickname all Pokémon they catch or obtain. (This is not technically necessary for the challenge run, but is universally accepted as part of a Nuzlocke.)
Emulation is my hobby. Entire libraries of systems. But it all started with 'There is a particular game I want to play, it will never be re-released, but I am also broke as a joke'.
6:01 let me tell you something it's 50% chance to get a losing team or a good team, 25% of your team being saved after getting lowered to the point you almost scream at them, and 70% chances for me are AUTO TEAM SELECTING SRSLY WHY TF AM I AT REBELLION 7 TIMES
I'm probably one of the only people who play this game that actually gives a shit about the lore. Yes, Kingdom Rush does have a lore, starting with Frontiers and onward. Ironhide posts lore entries about the series on their website. Good review btw. Part of me really wishes I grew up playing this when I was a kid.
Dangggg bro this is a high effort video. I did have to play it at 1.5 speed because I thought i was at .75x when i played it normally so that might be why your views aren't as high as they deserve to be yet but keep it up bro.
From one side, I like how people just bring attention to the game, but from the other.... Man there's so much stuff that downgrades this game, that are barely even mentioned by anyone...
Shoutouts to all emulator devs and supporters. You not only saved millions of abandoned games you also make them better!!! Thanks for all the hard work
Absolute missed opportunity to cover the zuma blitz (specifically the beta) assets being found and being made playable again via bluemaxima’s flashpoint but that might have already been talked to death by others in the zuma community at this point lol But hey glad to see that people still remember this classic franchise Not to mention how much potential you have as a content creator, I really do hope you find more success man
Hiya! I only noticed this video now while looking for another "lost" Zuma game, "Super Zuma" from PopCap World which seemed to be a South Korean thing that had Korean localizations of PopCap games. SZ seems to be a multiplayer version of Zuma, similar to Zuma Blitz. I was the one who helped find the assets for ZB for Flashpoint cracking, unfortunately Zuma is so unpopular even now that it didn't gain that much traction on Twitter :/
yes i remember playing zuma when i was like 7 or 8 at my grandmas and i got my own version on my pc and beat it and hertoic mode is so hard still cant beat it
I didn't really learn anything new in this video, but I enjoyed it very much. :D Can't believe how low your subscriber count is. You have one more now.
is there any handheld that can emulate older games anywhere anytime maybe a tablet or a small laptop i what to carry around one main device that has a bunch of games and customization and maybe hacking games any tips for a project like this?
