I really enjoyed this video, and like the other videos in this series, I was wondering if you could upload the audio to Google Drive and share the link with us? Also, it would be great if you could upload the link to the Op.10 No.11 piece as well. Thank you so much for always taking the time to upload high-quality audio to Google Drive. It means a lot to be able to listen to my favorite performances in the best possible quality. This is a message from Japan, so I apologize if my English is a bit off.
@@p589k78j thanks! I'm delighted to hear. I'll check my laptop soon for the not-yet-uploaded original audio files. I will be doing also op. 25. As a matter of fact I recorded already the three first in one day in the very beginning of this summer, but have had my hands so full of other work that I still haven't had time to do all the video editing and mouse clicking it takes.
@@markusollila9169 Thank you so much for your kind response and for sending the link to us! I’m really looking forward to listening to the original audio files. It’s exciting to hear that you’ve started recording Op. 25 as well! I completely understand how time-consuming video editing can be. Please take your time-I’m sure it will be worth the wait. Your work is always worth the wait. Thanks again for all your effort in sharing such wonderful music with us!
Voi, että on kaunista. Muuten... tähän etydiin minunkin taitoni kauan kauan sitten riittivät. Riihimäellä M. Rahkosen johdolla saatiin aikaiseksi jopa esittämiskelpoista tavaraa. Chopin oli/on minun lempisäveltäjäni. Voin vain ihailla näitä pianoesityksiäsi.
@@jaril.4593 kiitos!
Chopin's original tempo marking is remarkably fast: Presto con fuoco 88 for a minim. I play perhaps a little bit faster, ≈ 92. Not much though. I could play it even faster, but the music would start to lose its internal structure and meaning. As a piece it is like a temper tantrum: a reaction to the third etúde, especially to it's violent mid section (Chopin has written 'attacca' to the end of the third). I feel like it is the rage and desperation which Poland's destiny in 1830 rebellion raised in Chopin. I associate it with Beethoven's Rondo Capriccioso Op. 129. "Rage over a lost Penny". Having gotten used to this tempo, slower versions sound like practice tempo to me. Playing somewhat slower isn't necessarily easier though: the 16th notes have more time to be played poorly. In my view this is the second most demanding of the Op. 10 etùdes. (After no. 2). It has never been one my better ones nor one of my favourites. It's nevertheless one of the best and most important of them all and one not to be taken lightly by any pianist.
The piano was just a little bit out of tune in first video. Therefore I decided to play it again after having my Yamaha tuned. It makes the instrument sound so much better. This version is also slightly more accurate and I like it better overall. Here is the link to the original wav file: drive.google.com/file/d/1Mv4K9eJrQSND_GZ-8fVTfnJFYwe2YVjt/view?usp=drivesdk
Voi Kiitos! Mun sanat ei riitä kertomaan miten paljon tämä koskettaa juuri nyt. Aivan yhtä mahtava kuin muistinkin. Iso itku tuli. Olen todella kiitollinen.
Thanks! I'm glad to have succeeded in playing the first two on my best level. Feels almost like I'm halfway through.. These first two are so unbelievably taxing.
Tämäkin on upeaa, mutta saako esittää toiveen. Viime vuoden joulukuussa Fugen joulukonsertissa esitit "sweet bye and bye" niin taivaallisesti, että jäin koukkuun. Olisiko mitenkään mahdollista saada se esitys tänne ❤
I will be providing also a link to the original audio recording because of the loss of audio quality in the tube.. here you go: drive.google.com/file/d/1ndwGw2oE4J6xv5p-TyFq8964SaMCr9-B/view?usp=drivesdk
I'm planning on doing a complete series of videos like this on Chopin's Études Op. 10 and Op. 25. I have practically never done any serious recording or video editing before, and this video being the first one, I apologize for all the inconveniences regarding taking down videos and re-uploading fixed ones. Hopefully the process will become easier with some time and experience.
