Interesting videos. That's my goal. Living on a farm, I have become a jack of all trades, so many will be building, restoring, homesteading, and farming type videos, but I'm not limiting myself in this silly description. I'll post any darn video that I feel like! Of course, I feel like posting interesting ones, so I hope you find them interesting as well! Enjoy!

Been watching your videos for over a year now. They are fascinating !… I commend you on your abilities, from farm worker, engineering, plant maintenance, Joinery the list is endless. I was sorry to hear about Dozers problems with his knees. I’m so glad you helped him and have given him a fighting chance of a long pain free life. I myself have a Labrador puppy roughly same age as Dozer and appreciate the cost of caring for pets. Again thank you for great videos from a fans across the pond in Bonny Scotland.
Hi John. Great video, as usual. The Kobelco excavator on the farm I work on has a pattern changer, do Case ones have this?. I have read somewhere that it may be necessary to swap pilot lines but I'm sure you'll work it out. Hi from Australia.
I don't know have I said this before. You swap the expansion tank it tracts the opposite way? you have two choices eliminate the expansion tank or put another expansion tank on the other line 💥💥
454 on the water is a great motor in my opinion. Though in my 1986 sea ray sundancer the small block 8 cylinder always ran well for me. Even though the sundancer was something awful with that yellow color paint. We ended u putting a new gel coat on it.
You talked about the difficulty of ordering parts for your offroad equipment. The industrial hydraulics sector is more what you would expect as far as documentation of their hydraulics. Prints, part numbers and drawings are available from the manufacturers just like any other machine part. Industrial cylinders normally run higher duty cycles, higher pressures and are manufactured in larger numbers than mobile hydraulics. If you were a purchasing manager and had a thousand cylinders in you shop, you would not put up with this type of lousy documentation from the manufacturer.
Whole removal of the assembly is definitely the way to go. No issues about contamination and you have full control of the reassembly process. Love the channel.
It's probably the wrong amperage but with the old Chrysler firewall ballast resistor work that ceramic ballast resistor. Especially the one with two resistor sets. Might work with that
You need to go buy a lottery ticket now, but I think you just used up all of your luck on your brother's crap. FYI, in the future, always lower the outdrive at least half way, I know it's got a double cardone u joint but it's a lot to ask of the joints and the rubber coupler on the flywheel.
Cost under 10k usd Unless you own the equipment to move them from job to job they are rather useless or they stay at one property. Its going to cost a bunch to run it down the road to dig a pond However around the farm it comes in handy.
I don't know why everyone things its a good idea to put the outdoor unit so close to the building. It does need to be able to dump the heat that its pulling from inside. Even contractors are wasting energy by putting their AC's in areas that do not have good airflow. Also you could have put in 2 - head units upstairs and solved all those problems and not used as much electricity. You could have solar'd the install and not even been worried about how much you were using.
I sure am glad I decided to watch again. Your approach is fun, you're articulate and fairly concise. I appreciate an intelligent approach to attacking new things and not being so cocky while doing so. You're my kind of dude to hang with. It always seems to take a few watches over a given period to catch on to a new channel. My ADD doesn't allow me to just settle in and enjoy a great channel with out a fight. Keep up the great content. And thanks for what you do.
Tough luck for the peasants who only have one excavator. Ide imagine the cylinder and top pin removal would have been a lot less fun without the aid lol
I know it's too late now but the bottom Compression ring with that angle on it should be the bottom ring on the two compression ring Pistons. Put some drain back holes behind that oil control ring. It doesn't appear to have nearly as many holes in that new piston is in the old one and getting the oil back out of that cylinder and down into the crankcase is very helpful in controlling oil and keeping it from getting into the combustion chamber. Next time you have to take out dowel pins like that, turn that piece down just like you did and it fill it with grease and when you get it partially down you put a rag over it and hit it and it'll force that dowel pin straight up with hydraulic pressure
the name is obvious, and you already spoke it: “The Beast” 😉 - it doesn’t really matter what you paid for the machine, as the RU-vid series on fixing it up, will likely bring in many many views, and I assume your channel is monetized 👍
A lot of labor involved, controlling hydraulic oil loss is the most challenging part as it will go everywhere if you don't have a plan to contain it.. In the end, it's well worth the time to restore the proper functionality to your equipment. Great video - thanks for taking the time to document your work as it is very helpful to anyone considering attempting such a repair.
