@2:40 the sample rate is what makes the true 'character' of digital 'audio' with @3:10 24 BIT depth, I've seen it while using audacity and such recording 'digital' instruments persay, you are making a record of a electrical signal, on a particular day from a branded machine with a Digital Audio Workstation, you can Calculate effectively, each of those possible 16,777,216 possible values (that number seems random but that is a base of some number as well) thats why trap music has those sub-basses not possible before, it must have be Calculated, Generated, Manipulated within a digital environment such as in a DAW, makes me think of why Moog or synthesizers, have particular characters or differences of sound, and why they are so expensive.. the kicker has always been, being able to manipulate, the sound generated. and with 24 BIT depth in a file of 'digital audio', you can calculate and arrange the values of 24bit 16,777,216 possible values in a file of digital 1s 0s of music in a mp3 or wav file aac effectively, all audio coming out of my computer speakers, is Analog Audio, in its most basic word terms from voltages to moving air particles, the cut with digital 'audio', daws, and electronic music, you really don't deal with air particles, nor are you just dealing with voltages, your cutting into the digital file of 1s 0s, however that may appear on your screen, and the most effective or fun, or unique thing to do there is, calculate sin waves or pure mathematical, waves there digital instruments, effectively, you need to chart the characteristics of like a moog sound or roland sound or obemheimer etc.. that would be the difference, the Character and the justification for what our ears recognize, cognitively or psychologically, right now as im writing, i'm getting caught up on sample rate vs bit depth, but i see that as a different video aswell in all, there are times im trying to find the difference between my piano and the music speakers connected to my computer in my room. analogue vs digital. cutting to the source, weither with vinyl like dj grandmaster flash, or now with digital, manipulating the sound generated via bits 1s 0s digital files thanks for explaining, its helping me visualize and graph i have a vision of trying to explain music theory mathematically, so this is getting me closer to that as well
In piano roll the arrow tool is more usable for me than paint tool , but i have some issue with it , so is there any way to change double press to make new note with one press ! This will make a big difference for me Thanks
Hi. Good, informative and nicely presented video. I'm recently new to Studio One. Been using cubase approx 30 plus years. But been experiencing whole heaps of issues. So getting used to ST One and kinda fuljoying it. Thanks, Man.
How do i make sure that automations are recorded exactly as i played them . My case : i press play( the midi part is drawn on mai tai) and then i move the pitch wheel inside mai tai with my mouse - now it does record the automations but when i play it back it sounds different to what i heard while playing in real time. Is it an automation smoothing issue?
This is an exceptional video ... thank you so much ... recently found your channel ... the substantive content and communications are fabulous ... again thank you!!
REAPER! I used Cubase 5 years, Avid 7 years, FL Studio since Fruity loops times. Nothing comes close to Reaper! Once you get used to it there is no way back! )))
@ElectronicMusicSchool … Salutations, I hope all is well. Besides commenting on videos, is there an alternative method I could use to engage with you in a conversation? I want to discuss something, if you’ll kindly allocate a small portion of your time to talk with me. It’s highly likely that you’ll find the discussion very intriguing. If you decide that you will talk with me, simply reply with the preferred method of communication and if it’s live (phone call, video call, etc) then include the time and day that best suits you. If it’s not live (email, text, etc) then that shouldn’t matter but if it does for whatever reason just let me know. Thank you for your time, the most underrated and overlooked commodity we possess.
When you click “T to add track” is there a short cut for the drop down menu to select music? My brother is visually impaired and this would make it extremely easy to add tracks for him and select music without having to use a mouse to find and click on the drop down menu list. Thanks
