You may have already figured it out or heard from someone else regarding the examine turn, if it pops up a question mark it means somebody else can learn that move. Didn't realize there was a 5th or 6th game, haven't gotten around to playing 4 yet though; entirely agree with your sentiment on game design and public acceptance with crap. Western rpgs? The only one that comes to mind is LiveALive, but that's only like ~1/3 of the game. Glad this game doesn't really hold back on some deeper thoughts as a coming of age story, bringing up how difference facets of life are interconnected.
Yeah, he didn't mention that in the guide: Unless you own the armor sets from both Crustacia and the Nobilia market place, you won't get the best armor out of the hidden pots in the colosseum.
OMG Skies of Arcadia is my favorite JRPG of all time and in my top 5 games of all time. Played it on the Dreamcast when it first came out and it got me through a very hard time in my life.
Wow thanks for this. I emulated this game back in the ZSNES days but didnt get far. Playing on a real cart right now so no save scumming to keep my head above water lol. Love this game though, a real slice of Americana
Hey warbeard I'd like to askis the dlc available for you? because for me it isn't because the server's for soul sacrifice shutdown so you can't download the dlc anymore are you aware if there is a way to access it ?
There is a way to access it through save editing since the DLC is there already with the normal game updates (included with your purchase of the game) it is just a matter of getting the flag added to your save now that the servers are down. If you google "How to get Soul Sacrifice dlc again in 2023 after the servers shut down" and go to post 13 in the thread the user had posted directions on how to get the flag added to your save. Sorry my answer is a little cryptic but sometimes RU-vid can be fussy about posting links.
Most favourite game of all time for me. Glad to see some recent gameplay! Have you attempted Alice's Maze by the way? I remember back in the days when online servers were popping off some groups and clans did runs that went into 200+ floors which took over 10 hours to get to.
I haven't looked at it too much yet. Been mainly focusing on going through the story and pacts based on level. I have heard it can get pretty crazy in there though so I'll have to pop in at some point soon!
1:18:49 The drawbridge to the right is open, so you don't have to take the long way around. Silly, isn't it? I've done the same thing before, myself. 😅
They can get a bit tedious, yes, even after you've played through the game numerous times. I absolutely adore this game, but a few of the labyrinths can be infuriating (looking at you, dark teleporter area). One thing I'll mention in case you ever play again, the dark forest labyrinth you began during the end of the previous video holds a cute secret: remember the oglins you were seeing up in the trees? They show you the correct path. If they're on the screen, you're going the right way. If you don't see one, backtrack to the previous screen.
I'm glad I played through and will again some day. I think the only time I got actually angry was when I got one shot by the plants in the final dungeon ha ha. That is actually an awesome tip! I didn't even notice that. @@WolfyRagnarok
The 5X does not have a connection for a VGA signal. You could go with a device like this www.retrorgb.com/hd15-2-scart-adapter.html to move the VGA signal through the Scart port but I did not feel the need to do so.
Thank you for this. This was one of my favorite child hood games, even though I completed it, I always had this ''what if'' about this market, if I knew what I was doing, how better of an experience would it have been. Lol, I had hardcore ADHD back then at age 13, so all the trading made my head spin. Age 42, the playthrough of this was much more intuitive, though I replayed it just for the sense of mastery. This guide heloped me do just that. (Getting all nostalgic) I still remember first blind playthrough of this game with a buddy. As we played through Prehistoria up through Ebon Keep, we often wondered... "Yo...what was that future area with the bazooka? How do we get back up there? Who the hell was that butler?" As it went unmentioned initially, then alluded to, up until the Tinker explained it. From that point on, we got excited like: "Dude, I can't wait to get back up there. With all this alchemy and another bazooka, we're going to kicking all kinds of ass across that space station, I hope the boy sic's the dog on the butler before blasting him." Overall, one of my favorites among many.
The cheapest bags of rice are in the top left. But wow never knew that trick with the crazy prophet and the centurion cape, or getting anything from him at all. Too cool!
The biggest pain in the ass is getting the early chocobo egg by buying enough bags of rice and exchanging them for gems cuz you have to trade it later in Ivor (I think for the gourd, which I know does nothing, but it's still part of completionist runthroughs). At least you make a ton of money out of it.
I had a lot of fun in this area, think i even had to reset because of the guy you haggle will stop if you haggle too much. Would agree with the other commenter who said he has the best price for whatever he was selling. There was something interesting about this area, looking for whoever had the best deals, feeling regret because you used up all your money for the wrong person lmao
Just a note to add as I’ve had more time to think on the game as a whole. While I’m still excited for a new Monsters game to be releasing in the west I find the DLC they’re selling with it to be gross and typical modern industry behavior. I will probably hold off a bit as the quality in the demo does not feel worth full retail to me especially with the day one DLC on top of it. Do as you will as I know people will want to “support” the Monsters franchise. Don't get me wrong I think it is a fun game but paying full price with the information I have now doesn’t feel justified. Hopefully Square will start giving the spinoffs the budget and care they deserve.
All the charm and story and fairytale that made 1 and 2 so good seems very substantially lacking. Even the 8 bit music had more character and life with its plonking bass lines than this does. I'm excited for new monsters and the streamlined mechanics, but overall the style and presentation of it all seems to lack the wonder and inagination
I know there's dialogue with Marco or somewhere where vyse says never give up never surrender but I can't find it. I think it's in this part of the game but I haven't seen anything saying exactly where it is.
Did you enjoy the demo? I know the performance is apparently quite bad. But when you're talking about a demo, you really have to take performance with a grain of salt.
yeah, I enjoyed it. I was expecting performance issues before even downloading as they don't seem to like putting a decent budget into the spinoffs. I wish they would as seeing this after XI is kind of sad. The game play however is quite fun and the seasonal idea is a cool addition. The monster synthesis is straight forward and it will be interesting to see what people come up with using it. I will for sure be getting it when it comes out.
I'm running it at 2560x1440P I have been using the HD Retrovision component cable for my input. I use the PS1 320 Horizontal sampling preset with phase detect set to 1 of 6 Scanline settings are as follows. Preset = PVM-600 Scanline beam = Exponential Scanline Str. = 2 Intensity mod. = 15 Mask = Grille-Bright Gamma boost = +4 Color boost = +6 Pre-emph = N/A Only other setting is I use Frame lock on the V-sync setting in the HDMI output menu. Hope this helps!
Absolutely worth it! I would keep an eye out as the maker of the RetroTink does have a new model in the works that is looking amazing. Not sure on price yet but thought I’d let you know in case you want to wait for the new one.
Last I saw they were thinking late 2023. He did say “Best guidance is to budget $1,000 and we hope you will be pleasantly surprised when the actual price is determined.” So it may be a lot more than the 5X but I figured I’d let you know if it ended up being worth it to you.
Yes they do. The 5X outputs to HDMI and there are a decent amount of resolution options for output so I have not ran into any issues using it with an HD tv.
