if you liked All You Wanna Do, i would DEFO recommend watching a live rendition of it! specifically Samantha Pauly’s rendition, she adds SO MUCH EMOTION to the song
i think about “you could go next door and see something professional, we wouldn’t blame you a bit! it beats sitting through this ore-shit” on like a weekly basis
the cruelty of not telling them about the alternate universes so one of them is just struggling to understand how the hell they survived the musical apocalypse and why they're singing
StarKid can afford to make their songs make no sense out of context since their shows are available to everyone to view for free and I think that's beautiful
this show goes from having a song for almost every key moment, very clearly have events take place during songs and thus making it easier to parse out the plot just from the OST, but then when it matters most there's suddenly massive leaps between songs and thus leaving out a bunch of plot in you're only listening to the OST, it's kinda interesting
not simply "The Little Mermaid in Space", it's "The Little Mermaid - Starship Troopers!AU fanfiction" so many ppl, including myself when I first saw it, completely miss that this musical is a parody of Starship Troopers, it seems.
Imagine them trying to figure what’s going on with dirty girl and bully/bury the bully bc they are so weird. Like the first line of dirty girl is ‘hey boo daddy needs a bit of that dirty soup’ like
"Creepy Old guy" is very ironic. Lydia agrees to marry Beetlejuice, being blackmailed to save Barbara. But she and everyone else plays along, acting like they're okay with her marrying him. Keep in mind, she's 15. Beetlejuice has to marry a living person in order to be alive. So when they get married, he comes to life, then Lydia impales him, killing him, to send him back to the Netherworld. His mom shows up, threatens everyone, and he kills her (his mom) with the sandworm, saving everyone. He then returns to the Netherworld. The Deetz's and the Maitlands stay living in the house together, as a family. The Maitlands end up being Lydia's sergeant ghost parents.
Asking them to decipher Black Friday from just the music is so funny cos I had to watch the musical itself like 3 times to properly understand it 😂 how will they ever pick up on the whole subplot with the president of the US accidentally bombing russia through an interdimentional portal in this musical that takes place in a mall 😂
