Noiduin draws its inspiration from Finnish mythology and folklore, and the lyrics are often based on old Finnish incantations. One of the focal points and a big part of Noiduin's charm are the self-built traditional intruments like jouhikko, kantele and witchdrums.
This is amazing, very mystical! Finally I found the mystical-folk music associated with Finno-Ugric mythology. Jouhikko sounds very beautiful, you can hear the forest twilight in it. There is very little of this type of Finnish folk music, mostly the Scandinavians have a lot of this type, but the Finns do not. You have created some amazing folk music from northern Finland. I hope you become Danheim/Gealdýr only from the world of Finnish mythology. I wish your team to prosper. I wish the world to know about the mythology of the ancient Finns who came from the cold forests of the Urals and Siberia. Your culture is amazing and different from all other Europeans! Uni kuni ilmatuni pilkas kummus Kuu kuis tulin ilmsis või ilmutusil. Surin; elasin, ehk uuest sündisin, varjus sulin, jõed ja linnud; linased linnad ja vaimud. Vammused valgusin valguseks kirgastumuseni valgust suuni... mõlku mõtteis mõrkjates kui kihk jäi pilku. Tulin muutama tunti sitten kekrijuhlista, ja näin tämän aivan äskettäin ystäväni suosituksesta. Kappale sopii vuodenaikaan hienosti, sillä tuonpuoleisen likeisyys juuri nyt tuntuu iholla... Vaikka lyyliminen (antien luovuttaminen) vainajahengille tapahtui eilen kylmässä ja hämärässä metsässä, oli päällimmäisenä kiitollisuus ja kokemus hyvästä sukuyhteydestä niin menneisiin kuin tuleviinkin polviin. Tänä viikonloppuna oma perinnenoituuteen liittyvä työni vainajalassa käynteineen tuntui hieman kuin tämän laulun unelta. Päästessäni perille tunnelma oli kyllä jo toinen, mutta itse matkantekoa luonnehti jonkinlainen "elävä kuolema" ja tummapiirteinen tyytyväisyys, joka ajoittain tuntui olevan sukua Uni -kappaleenne tunnelmille. @@HonnePerkele You could call it fantasy "norse" music, modern "norse" music, neopagan folk or whatever. But yeah. It isn't authentic norse or viking. It is important to make that distinction. Historically norse music was not like that at all. But it is new, innovative and beautiful and we should appreciate it as it is. It makes us feel connected to the past in a way the real norse music probably wouldn't.

Music is expressive, can have meaning and be connected to various different forces, spirits and beliefs. That’s the idea of folk music, connection to its cultural roots whether it be its people, religion or lifestyle. Here the music is Finnish, it will hold similarities to Norse folk due to cultural and religious similarities they hold. The sounds utilizing mostly similar instruments and the song expressing various feelings. There are songs in modern Norse folk that does the same.
