I'm guessing that with the Dropkicks playing and the MA in mangler capitalized you're an eastern MA transpalnt? Nice fly btw.

Very slick! But is this knot (known as either the Duncan loop or the Uni knot) really stronger than an improved clinch knot? In James Anderson's 2012 tippet shootout [easy to google], the improved clinch knot beat out the Uni knot. Now I realize Anderson is a Southern Montana angler, and is no match for a Northern Montana guide like you! So I have two questions? 1.) Have you done what Lefty Kreh suggests and test your knot head to head with an improved clinch knot? That is, have you tied both your Uni knot and an improved clinch knot to a relatively large eye of a fly, then pulled the strands in opposite directions to see which knot is stronger? [I have tried this, and the improved clinch always wins, but I certainly don't tie my Uni knot as slick as you, and may be putting undue stress on the tippet as I tighten it.] 2.) Have you tried going twice through the eye to convert your Uni knot into the Fish N Fool, winner of the 2009 "Knot Wars"? [Knot Wars was conducted by Berkley to find the strongest knot, but didn't test fine tippet material - easy to google Knot Wars Fish N Fool.] I will be flying into Missoula in 10 days to fish the Bitterroot Skwala hatch - hope to see you there.
