I used to work/socialize on Meadow Street & live on Priory Street in Ashton, so for about a year i used to walk through there twice a day, as a shortcut. One of the walk-throughs was always between midnight & 2am. I frightened myself a few times lol, but never saw anything weird.

Heard a Fairey Albacore crashed tragically near Carr House Lane sometime in 1943, killing Peter Draper, Roy Hardy Freeman and William 'Billy' Thirlmere - I much hope I have got the names right. Please let them never be forgotten' - I find it unbelievable that a regeneration plan for Central Blackpool totally overlooks the fact that a vilent air disaster happened there when two aircraft collided during the Second World War.

No wing tanks? Very unusual catch. I believe they always mounted the BOZ pods regardless as they acted as ballast on the wings - can anyone confirm this?

Thing is aircraft get old remarkably quickly. I can remember seeing them dogfighting above my house in Lincolnshire for the first time and being quite excited....but that was over twelve years ago now.😱 What happened ?
Shame that, really. Would have been a boon for UK industry and would have likely been much cheaper than F-35, meaning we'd have built and would now be operating more aircraft.
