I've seen this once or twice, but it usually only happens if the zip file is saved in OneDrive (or another cloud storage option). If your file is saved to OneDrive or similar, please try saving it to a non cloud location and try again. I believe this is because the cloud storage applications are trying to sync the file while we are trying to use it (but I don't know exactly why it causes the error).
Apologies, but I don't quite understand what you mean by "delete emails" here. Are you meaning that you are not able to delete an email alias from your account like I show in the video? Or do you mean that when you delete emails in an app or similar, they aren't being deleted? If it is the second one, can you please provide more details such as the device and app you are using?
Unfortunately, I can't find an answer to that one for you. It seems to be an odd limitation of PowerPoint Live. Changing the attendee permissions doesn't seem to effect this fact. I would suggest using the built in feedback feature in the Teams app to supply this feedback directly to MSFT.
This Add in should work fine on just about any version of Excel from 2016 - Present. Is there a particular error you are seeing when you try to add it to your installation? Also, is your office installation a work or personal one?
I have received an email from Microsoft, titled "Update your sign-in technology before September 16th, 2024 to maintain email access." If I follow the steps in the video, will I still maintain my email access and connections to Xbox account, Ubisoft account and etc. by September?
If you got that email, you are likely currently using an email or calendar app that uses a less secure authentication method to connect to your Outlook.com email account. You will need to upgrade your third-party mail and calendar app to a version which supports modern authentication methods such as the Outlook Mobile Application or change your sign in option for apps like Gmail to a modern alternative (as they support modern auth via IMAP). The common cause for this is if you have set up your Microsoft Account address as an exchange account in the Gmail app or similar (which helps sync more items, but uses an old authentication method). This method is no longer being supported. As for my video, changing your alias etc here doesn't really have any bearing on the email you got, nor your access to your email.
I actually love you dude thanks for this video because I been recently hacked and I been trying to prevent it but ever since I found your video it’s been helping me ever since but all asides thanks.
Unfortunately, I do not believe there is based on the Google Documentation for Markdown support. I tried using underline tags from other tools like Obsidian ("<u>" and "</u>") but this does not work Docs. support.google.com/docs/answer/12014036?hl=en#zippy=%2Cconvert-markdown-to-google-docs-content-on-paste%2Ccopy-google-docs-content-as-markdown%2Cimport-markdown-as-a-google-doc%2Ccreate-headings-with-markdown-in-google-docs%2Citalicize-bold-and-strikethrough-text-with-markdown%2Cadd-links-with-markdown
No. This is not possible. Both accounts are Microsoft Accounts already and you cannot merge them. This is what I refer to at around 00:50 in the video.
If you have already added the alias to your account, you can follow the steps shown in the video straight the time you referenced. It shows the steps to remove an alias from your account. Just keep in mind that you can't remove the Primary Alias of your account without first switching to a different one.
Yeah, I think I understand what you are saying. I cover how to remove an alias in the video from about 03:20 onwards. If you don't have any other alias to make your primary one first, then you will need to follow the earlier steps in the video first to set up a second alias to change your primary one into.
Hey Paul, sorry but I have a few questions and I figure I ask since it pertains to this topic and given how knowledgeable you were with the previous question I asked, figure I ask again. 1) so if I were to delete my Microsoft account and I currently use that Microsoft account for a computer (I cannot make a local account, already checked) will I no longer be able to use that computer? 2) I have the Microsoft Authenticator app and have gotten a few messages every now and then that someone is requesting to log in. If I start the deletion process and someone try’s to log on and I get that notification, will the deletion process still go through as long as I don’t touch anything? Or will the act of someone trying to sign in prevent the deletion process? Sorry for the long questions, just curious since I have an old Microsoft account lol.
1: I personally haven't tried something like this in a long time, but you should be able to pivot the account from one Microsoft Account to another. I wouldn't suggest deleting the Microsoft Account while it is actively being used as a login as you could lose access to your User Profile completely. I believe the following steps should still work (but I am not able to test at the moment: - Open Settings: Press the Windows key + I or click on the Start button and select "Settings." - Go to Accounts: Click on "Accounts." - Your Info: Under the "Your info" section, click "Sign in with a local account instead." - Follow the prompts: Enter your current Microsoft account password and follow the prompts to create a new local account. - Sign out and sign in again: Sign out of the local account you just created. - Switch back to Microsoft account: Sign in with your new Microsoft account. This will link your new account to your PC. 2: Yeah, this should be fine. As long as there is no successful login attempt within the deletion process time frame.
I have a question regarding this. If I did this with a brand new email (whether it be from Outlook or another email service) would this, in theory, cut down on all the unsuccessful sign in attempts I am getting and unsuccessful sync attempts (whatever an unsuccessful sync is) And 2) when looking at my account, I have 2 current Alias. One is the email (which I can remove and what not). The other is a screen name that I cannot remove but I can deactivate. Is there anyway to remove the screen name Alias?
This process would theoretically cut down on the number of unsuccessful attempts as people would not be able to use that email address to sign in anymore. When it comes to your account name that you can't remove, what you can do though, is actually go into your sign-in options, which is another option in amongst the account settings for your Microsoft account and you can toggle on or off individual usernames or email addresses that can be used for signing in. All you should need to do is toggle off the ones that you don't want to be used for signing in. That will prevent people from being able to use that one for an unsuccessful attempt. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to toggle off the address that is your primary Alias.
@@paulomalley I appreciate the quick reply. Very kind of you. As a quick follow up to the second question, do you know why there would be an account alias I cannot remove? I have already deactivated it so that is good but it is odd I cannot remove it.
It's possible that the Account name is an old Xbox Gamertag or Skype Username. If so, you likely can't fully remove those from your account, but you should be able to remove it from your sign in options at least.
As per Microsofts documentation, it appears that the ability to use this feature now needs to be enabled by your company admin. This was not the case when I made this video. You can view the documentation here: support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/introduction-to-office-scripts-in-excel-9fbe283d-adb8-4f13-a75b-a81c6baf163a?ns=excel&version=90&ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us The following site has information all about the scripts as well as links to guide admins on how to enable it for their organisation: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/scripts/
This is such a great video! - quick question. If I leave the original email address on the account after making the new 1 the primary, will this mean the email to log in will only be the new primary one or could the old email address still used to log in? My account is under attack so im trying to get rid of this email as the log in but still have it available for emails to authorise email address changes to facebook, banking etc
That is the case if you leave the address attached to the account, but there is a way around this. After you create the new address, you can then go to your Sign In Preferences and toggle off the old address so that only the new address can be used to sign into your account from that point onwards. The old email address will still exist and receive emails, but will no longer be able to be used for sign in. EDIT: And thanks for the kind words too... I appreciate it.
There are restrictions on how many changes you can make to a Microsoft Account within a set period. This is to prevent bad actors from making too many changes to an account (usually spammers etc). I would suggest to give it a few days and try to change the primary alias then.
Yeah, unfortunately the Pixel 5 did not receive the Android 14 QPR1 release (which is the release directly following the last one the Pixel 5 got). This feature requires the QPR1 update.
Yes, this is to be expected. I mention this in my pinned comment. Samsung are using the Link to Windows application for this feature instead of the plug and play method that Google has added to Android.
Thanks - this is a great video! In my case, I am trying to set up 'workspaces' (maybe the wrong term) for projects, and then have areas for the different collaborative parts of those projects. For example, I am working as well as studying, so I would have a work workspace, and a study workspace - but then how could I have a 'folder(?)' for the different parts of the research I am doing within the study? At the moment I can only work out how to split it into work vs study but then everything seems to be all in the same area within those. Any ideas? Thanks!
That is a great way to use this feature! It will help you keep track of the different projects really easily! :) To keep tabs organised inside a Workspace, I tend to use the "Group Tabs" feature. Simply click and drag a tab on top of another in the same window and they will be grouped together. You can even name the groups and colour code them. This should help with further organisation.
Accessing Videos via Phone Link doesn't seem to currently be supported. Only photos can be accessed this way at this time. I anticipate this will likely change in the future though as Microsoft is constantly adding new features to the app.
I want to set another primary alias and delete the old one but it said that i cant change it. Even i add email or outlook account in it. Do you know why is it and how can i change the alias.
If you are following the instructions as shown in the video, there should be no reason for it not to work. Can you provide more context around when the error occurs and what it says specifically? Just keep in mind that you can't add an existing Microsoft account address as an alias, so you cannot add any existing Outlook account (only creating a new one as shown in the video will work).
@@paulomalleyof course i followed your instructions. Both Outlook account and the email is not an existing Microsoft account. It say to me that "We were unable to make your primary alias. Please try again later." I've just log in and want to change alias and it say that. And i also tried to change it 2 month ago but it also say like that. Do you have any solution?
Thank you for confirming that for me, I appreciate it. Can you please also confirm one more thing for me... Is your current Primary Alias one of the following: @hotmail, @live.com, or @msn.com? If this is the case, that would likely be the root cause of the issue. If this is the case, I do not believe you will be able to change the primary alias of the account without help from Microsoft Support as there is a process on the backend that prevents the system from converting the current Primary Alias into a regular Alias.
Your Pixel 6A should have this feature available provided it is up to date as this rolled out with the Android 14 QPR1 update (in December). As for the Samsung, I cover this in my pinned comment.
