Just like cars have evolved in complexity, it appears the Husqvarna autotune chainsaws s are getting more complicated. If you need to purchase a new carburetor, the firmware needs to get flashed by the dealer. Your video demonstrated that you can work on a autotune saw without the need to send it to the dealer for repair. I wonder if ring problem was a fluke?
Sorry to hear that. I seem to have good luck with them. Do you think you might have a crank seal leak causing issues or maybe the screws in the carb are loose? Or it’s possible it’s just a bad carb. Let us know what you find please and good luck!
I have replaced mine with a new carburetor but the motor will start on full choke and run but when I drop the choke to half or full and try to open the throttle, the engine dies out. I replaced all fuel supply lines including the full filter and checked the gasket position. Even took off the carb again and cleaned it with carb and choke cleaner and put it back on but it still is doing the same thing. No throttle response. The throttle cable is attached correctly and tightened so I am not sure if maybe I just got a bad carb or is there something else I am missing. Oh, i replaced the spark plug as well. Any ideas?
Put the nuts in before you install the battery. Then small piece of blue tape so they don’t fall out. Start the bike with the seat off. Look for sparks. You could shim the connectors with a washer.
Great video I learned about this chainsaw and the different things that u have to do to work with them and the process of getting running again very helpful video be blessed thanks for the video
My charger stopped working and I bypassed the small black box by connecting the two black wires that go into it and the charger worked. I just swapped the new panel in and still isn’t working. Any suggestions? When I bypass the small black box on the new panel the charger works again
The small black box sounds like a relay. You need to see if it is getting a signal to activate. If the feedback voltage is high enough (battery is charged) then the relay de activates thinking it’s full.
Hustlers fix for that leaning pulley is a very thick body style flat washer added to the underside. The bolt may have been a bit longer, don’t remember. Adding the zerk fitting is a good idea as it keeps the bearings cooler
Need help!!2007 Honda Shadow 750 Aero /been sitting for 8 years /7900 miles!/All fluids changed, New battery of course and new carb/Fired up and runs great/engine oil light stays on during idle/Goes off and stays off when you give it gas and are riding it/changed pressure oil switch/didn't solve problem/Run 50/50 mixture of kerosene/oil twice thru engine/problem still not solved/What do you suggest I do next?
Is that kerosine your using to lube your foam filter? I usually use engine oil. After it dries up about 10 minutes I finish off with a coating of a multi purpose lubricant spray then slide it back around my filter. Would anyone recommend just using gas or kerosine? Seems much easier the way you done yours their sir
I have a 05 shadow spirit , battery tender is not showing green light even after charging for 40 Hrs but bike starting noise is same like yours (end of video) , does it mean I have another issue as well ?
What’s the stuff called you are putting in the Cylinder for lubing it up. And the gasket stuff called for putting the block back on the saw body called . Actually in the process of doing this . And will go with that piston you installed. Very good information on the video thank you!!
Right on . Another question. My cylinder has slight scratches on the exhaust side . The sthil dealer recommended a new cylinder. Now price wise that’s up words of 275-330$ a new saw makes sense at that point . Do I put in a cheaper piston and put it together and see if it runs like crap . Kinda a toss up here on either a full rebuild or new piston . And what’s the difference between an oem piston and a regular one. Thanks.
@@austinalley5094oem vs aftermarket has to do with metal quality and tolerances. That being said, I have saved plenty of oem cylinders with sandpaper and hones, saved pistons with brass wire wheels and always new rings.
Hey brother i haven’t started my shadow for about 6months and seems like my battery is dead and needs replacing is this normal for not starting after 6months? hoping it isn’t my regulator
I guess I should clarify- if it fires up, then suspect a fuel delivery issue, if it doesn’t, could be compression, spark, timing, fuel quality, air restriction. Let us know what you find out
After wasting just time calling autozone I found your video on RU-vid and found me a cheap battery that will hopefully get the job done plus a video to get it swapped (I’ve done more mechanical stuff but a video for a first time is always good). Thanks!
I just put a new engine carburetor .all new hoses .NKG plug, etc . Won't run unless I add fuel to the intake. I have checked and rechecked everything, including buying another carburetor, and nothing seems to work . Compression is 120 Sparkplug is gapped at 029 Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 🇺🇲
@RayofallTrades I put a new impulse line in today and ran a guitar string / steel wire inside the barbed impulse hole that's on the engine. Wire goes in with no resistance, so it should be open and working . I ordered another carb today from Stihl. Also, I replaced the tank vent and tried running it with the vent off .no change at all. Do you know of any way of testing the impulse line ? I tried putting my finger over it while cranking, and I couldn't feel any air or pulse . Is it possible the OG stihl carb was bad and the Amazon carb I have is also bad ? I even tried soaking the Amazon carb in fuel at the advice of another 2 cycle repairman he said it helped with startups by soaking the carbs internals. I've fixed many 2 cycles in my life, but this one has me stumped. It has to be something simple. Thank you for any help and info . 🇺🇲
We have a fishing cabin up in Ontario. My Dad bought a new Honda generator in 1968. If that girl don't start on the first pull you didn't have it on. Its been simply great and I'm sure my grandkids will use it.
I have the same saw with the same exact issues. Would you let someone ship the powerhead to you for the same process as this video. Just can't get many people to work on these anymore. They just want you to buy a new one
Hello ray. I saw your video of you putting new rings and crank seals in a 028 STIHL AV super. Do you allow people to ship things to you like that to get worked on?
I have the 028 farm boss....I didn't even have to look at the saw.... Stupid oil cap! Dumbest design! 2 piece oil cap... Junk! I have the screw in caps, not the twist and lock.
Got to be more careful on buying things we are living in strange times and people like us getting scammed by people looking to get rich and charge a arm and leg for things ask me how I know never again
Hello Super Great Video, I believe you are missing the Stihl Cover washer - 1121 162 1001 which goes over the worm gear. Am I mistaken? Thanks for the very informative video, it helped so much.
@@RayofallTrades Ok, so I have a question that you can perhaps assist me with. The reason I wanted to clean the carb was due to rough starTing issues. I would often need open choke and a decent amount of throttle to get her running. So, yesterday I pulled the top off the carb. It looked pretty clean inside, but I cleaned all the jets I could get to and buttoned her up. Now I have a new problem, she will fire up really well, one turn of the key, no gas, but cuts out on idle after a few seconds. Fuel appears to be entering the bowl well enough. Any suggestions? I have a new fuel pump arriving tomorrow but was hoping to tinker today Thanks ray! D
@@DescartesDooleypull the plug to see if it’s flooded. The float lever can accidentally be installed backwards and cause a flooding condition. Also use a spark tester to see if the oil sensor is killing the spark
@@RayofallTrades When you say backwards, do you mean upside down? I'm pretty sure the float was placed back as was needed. First time I did have the needle drop out though and had to make sure it was properly seated, but I was getting no combustion at all due to lack of fuel, obviously. I will double check the float however. I am waiting for spark plug wrench, as she is really deeply recessed and I cannot access it right now. Thanks! D
I have an 05 suburban 2500 with the 6.0. Ive replaced all front end parts except the lower control.arms. ive even went through 5.gearboxes and 3 power steering pumps. It still wander going down the road at any speed. I have had this vehicle going on 5 years and its our long haul vehicles. Im getting tired of working on it and could really use some good advice.
Hello Sir. My left control arm lags about 4/5 inches behind the right arm when I drive straight. Do you know what I should adjust. There are no loose bolts/nuts/linkages. Thank you...
That’s pretty substantial. I would try to compare the linkages visually and see if they look the same. Also check the arms. When you start it and they are in home position, does it move before lifting the arms? And how about reverse? Is it the same offset but backwards?
sounds like the adjuster needs tightened (or loosened). It should look like a nut that has threads on each side. Take a measurement and turn a few turns then measure again to make sure you’re going the right way
