OMG!!! You were in the Smith terminal! DTW is my home airport and I was in that terminal when i was real little but i don't remember it. But I do like the North terminal. And I have recently started flying Spirit
yep, thats it. its still around in 2012. its the DTW Admin building now. concorse C no longer exists though, only the southwest terminal and the ticketing area are the admin.
@KDTWJetBlast Yes. It indicates that there is a 500 psi difference between the blue and yellow hydraulic systems. Once the systems senses a 500 psi difference it will automatically start the PTU to bring the psi within limits
@TennisChamp59 That ding after takeoff means the landing gears are up and locked. You will also notice that the EMERGENCY EXIT signs will turn off. After 10,000 feet, depending on company procedures, we will switch off the seat belts signs or recycle them indicating to the light attendants that turbulence is expected.
hey hey im not picking on any one im a pilot in training im just saying when im up on the garage at hopkins people gimme weird looks lol i love watching them i do it every week
0:59 lol frustrated passenger!! btw, whoever is a pilot here, can u let me know how long it takes to fly for a major airline like Air Canada? or any other international airlines?
Yea also if you notice another ding before landing, that is when the landing gear goes down, and the non-smoking sign was supposed to come on. Passing over 10000 ft is normally two or three dings, but in high altitude airport or bad conditions the dings dont ring until the plane is ok, for the the F/As to move around. Same happends when flying back to 10000ft, normally that has common PA such as: Flight Attendants prepare for landing.
I work with Airbus Planes, before all flights became non-smoking once you put up the landing gear, the non-smoking sign turned-off auto, but now that all flights are non-smoking, the ding still exists, but the sign remains on, during all the flight.
Great video! What camera do you use? My parents work for NW. I'll be flying the red tail a few more times then. I've also got several videos of Northwest on my channel by the way. :)
I'm looking forward to the new terminal, which I haven't had a chance to use yet. I'm from here, but having been based in DFW for a decade, coming back to my hometown on American has always been a depressing experience with that Smith terminal. Now I won't be as embarrassed hearing comments from my coworkers. About the video, I'm disappointed in the number of dissolves used. How many seconds did they really save? It disrupts the flow, as you're trying to check out the design.
