Alot of poorer countries be like this still honestly when it comes to foreigners, especially if they are not diverse. Not to say people are not friendly, but from my experience traveling as a light skinned Colombian places, its just like... if you dont look like the people there, there will always be a perception of some sort, and those perceptions will ether make people targets or not
