Horrid-jumbled and directionless. Faux piano concerto intro then falling into goo and corny sentimental drivel. The harmonic clashes are shocking. Did LeGrand play on the session? Yikes.
Je suis même pas né quand le film est sortie, j'entends parfois mes parents font des références au film, parcontre la musique du film a très bien voyagé à travers le temps, c'est un film assez triste parcontre, une dame qui préfère un vieux riche versus son pauvre jeune beau.
Absolutely loved it!!!!🎺 Been looking for this I used have it on vinyl years ago. The whole album🎸 ( Route 66 ? ) SMOKES!🥁 RTE 66, STRAIGHT NO CHASER and This monster rendition of I believe in you!! Can't thank u enough! 🎷
I love Michel's composition here that mixes jazz with bossa nova...it actually works very well with the twin pianos taking the highlight. Michel Legrand was one of Johnny Mathis' favorite composers and writers....a prolific orchestrator of film and television scores, he won 3 Academy Awards among others. Passing away in 2019 at the age of 86, he is sorely missed; yet, his music will continue to be a blessing to others for years to come.
