Thanks for the help. I’ve been dealing with this issue. I had the same broken tab and the noise was driving me mad. Always happened at roughly around 2000 rpm
I replaced the fan control box on my 01 TT and the fans still didn’t turn on, I had to connect to a OBD computer and reset the “engine control module” for it to work, just a heads up
Hey I understand, Audi no longer sells them along with a number of other parts. Check FCP Euro. If that doesn’t work I would go to an auto parts store and see if they have anything close. Good luck.
Awesome vid. Wish you did this for the evap system. I am getting the same machine and am concerned about the machine's output pressure potentially damaging something... Would also be nice to see where to plug in the connector for the evap system and whether or not I have to open or close and valves...
Thanks for the kind words. It was the first time for me using a system like this. I only ran it in short spurts. Not sure of the output pressure though. Good luck with your repair.
That things a cheap price at Walmart for what it is and the fact I can just buy baby oil to run the thing. Well looks like I’ll be finding that pesky small evap leak after all lol.
It took a few seconds but you have to hit the switch. Even though you hear the fan when you connect it to a power source you still have to hit the power switch. Hope this helps.

This video sucks. This guy didnt show how to connect the wiring or where to buy this particular type of dimmer switch.I know im right, so dont respond unkess you agree.@rodneywren
Hey buddy I have this exact trimmer. I bought it at a peddlers mall for 45$ and it's missing the exhaust and I can't get it to hit, even pouring gas in the carb. Does it have to have the exhaust to run? TIA
Hi I didn’t go any finer since the rest of the top has a brushed finish look. What I will do next time is use a block of wood as the sand paper base and make sure I do straighter lines.
Vac lines that big like to compress and cause issues. When id make custom lines like that, id hit up auto or hardware store and get some hollow copper pipe to cut to fit just shorter than the hoseclamps to keep the hose from compressing on itself. Hope the repair lasts for you.
Hi I’m not certain since I am not an electrician but I’ve replaced all of our dimmer switches with LED switches where we have LED lights and they work great.
the LED light has to be labeled as dimmable if it is not then the dimmable switch with a non-dimmable LED light will not dim. though most LEDs are dimmable but be aware some are not.
For the final touch you need to use a sponge wrapped with sanding paper and go all the way in one direction not back and forth so the grain is nice and even all the way, now you see the sanding marks.
It’s a Brushed Stainless Steel cooktop. All of it looks that way. If I kept using smaller and smaller grit it would have gone to a polished finish. Looks better than having gashes going the wrong way
