The scene in the subway has been edited differently . In the American version she has someone's eyes blinking in her hands after going hysterical. Also I noticed a man working in the ticket booth when she walked pass it.
I don't think Shane was so terrible. I would have made friends with his contacts and build a journalism empire if I were Rachel. She lacked self confidence. I believe Shane loved her. He was just an immature person, but honestly so was she. All young couples have things to work through. Shane kept trying to please Rachel...yeah he is a bit clueless, but she should have given it time and eventually they would grow and mature together. That is what marriage is. A confident woman will never loose her identity in a a man. It would be impossible. Think of Katherin Hetburn...would a man ever steal her fire, NO! She would help him be a better man, and he would respect her for retaining what makes her who she is.
