That little boy running away and finding an ounce of freedom, from nature, remembers me as a child hidding with my best friend bobby - my dog, and best friend - hiding in the garden late at night and watching the stars....Bobby would lay on the grass with me while we contemplated the dark sky full of stars, he was so calm, cuddling with me... I had a daily dose of beatings, bobby had them too, my Father had problems as you mays see... all parents used to "correct" their childen, but in my home, as the older, I was to blame for everything.... I put all my energy and drive in becoming a doctor...I made it...this scene takes me back to the same feeling... that unique moment of joy and liberty...running away and hiding from my father, me and bobby just laying down in the grass, in silence, out of my dads sight, dreaming... it was a beautiful, a unique feeling...I understand Beethovan at that moment....I had them too, and always made me go back to the dark nights full of stars, laying in the grass, hidding from the world and dreaming...miss you Bobby, hope we meet again one day my dear friend....
It’s so tragic that one of the greatest classical composers of all time who wrote and conducted some of the finest musical pieces in history couldn’t even hear his own glorious melodies.
The scene where one of his orchestra calmly approaches him to turn him around was one of the most human moments in history (and in cinema.) You could almost *feel* the loneliness and pain that his deafness was causing him- yet in a single, simple instant, another reached out to him to show him that everyone, EVERYONE in the room wanted him to know that *we could hear what he wanted to say* through his music, and that we collectively loved it. So much raw emotion; both by the actors, and by the historical figures this movie is based on. 😢 🥲
One of my favorite movies of all time and done by an actor who is also my favorite of all time. Classical music never gets old, but the newer and some older stuff is terrible and I could care less to hear it. Oh to be alive in these times!!! I haven't been to movies in forever and I haven't listen to any newer music. Something about classical that connects with me. This music can hit every emotion I have and inspire me. I hope all have a great day and long love the classics !!! 💯🙏👊✌️👍
Matthew Perry was a good actor. He is dearly missed. If there are any movies such as this one (Numb) or Fools Rush In airing on tv, I would record them in Matthew Perry’s remembrance. I just have to see him alive. He was not only good in his comedic roles. He was also good in his dramatic roles.
This is my favorite scene from my favorite movie. The year this movie came out - Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction came out the same year. In my book, everyone should see this film.
