Retro DJ & rollerskater from Vancouver Canada. Been DJing for over 30 years...don't consider myself much of a 'creator' but occasionally I make some of my own remixes / re-edits which I sometimes post here.
No, but it was inspired by Club House's cover! I liked it so much that I decided to somewhat re-create it but with the real songs instead of cover artists :)
What an Awesome mix. Fantastic. (FYI-“Steely Dan’s “Di it Again” was the very first “45” I ever bought on my own. 99 cent @ Sam Goodie. (I was 11 or 12). Now 50+ years on, when I hear the CLASSIC I think to myself: “Self, u were a sophisticated music lover for such a young lad!”
You know. I told someone that there was a song out quite a few years ago that combined Steely Dan and Michael Jackson and she thought I was either crazy or had a dream. My proof. 😅😅😅
Haha yes indeed! The main one that had chart success was back in 1984 and done by an Italian act called Club House (using session singers though of course!)
Thank you, appreciate it! I wanted to take the best parts of the dub and the extended dance version and make a much better structured mix (with a consistent tempo!)

Thanks man! Unlike pretty much everyone else, I always preferred Julian Mendelsohn's "Sisa Mix" over Shep's mix of this song...mostly cause I loved the LP version so much and Julian's mix most closely resembled a proper 'extended album' mix. However, it was missing some vocals and some (IMHO) key instruments that were present on the LP...so I made this edit using both versions, in order to restore those parts. Enjoy! (before it gets blocked!!)
