THE BREATH CONTROL-PITCH CONTROL AND PHRASING IS IN ANOTHER WORLD. WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO SEE JAY AND THE AMERICANS. A WONDERFUL GROUP. MAY YOU R.I.P.JAY(DAVID). YOU WERE THE BEST.
He sings and sounds like Jay Black but his voice is all his and does fantastic with it. Saw these guys live at Sterns Square in Springfield, MA on a Thursday night Bike Night 2002.
All due respect to the New Jay, but that's just embarrassing after hearing Jay Black from 2001 (Wings of Pegasus) and 2011 (PBS special), ages 62 and 72, respectively. However, absent the late David Blatt, it's good to have someone with the confidence to take the stage and give it his best.
This guy is in a way keeping Jay alive! You can't replace the original, but you can pay tribute to him! Much like the Elvis tribute artists! We loved these great voices, and it is a good thing to enjoy these tribute artists honoring these wonderful songs. Have say he does a great job!
You Sir don't know your "shit from Shinola." Take a look at the singer hitting those notes. Go back and watch a 1965 performance of Jay and the Americans. Boy do those two guys look alike. Who else in Rock n Roll can hit those high notes. That guy on stage in this 2016 performance can hit those notes. Why would a famous casino like Harrah's hire an Elvis Impersonator? And give him Top Billing and charge accordingly? Go away.
Excuse me!! Anyone that thinks this even in the same universe of Jay Black needs to visit a couple of RU-vid videos of Jay Black singing Cara Mia in his later years to be reminded of his talent. PBS Special of 13 years ago and another one (few years later) a PBS Special from 2011. You're welcome.
I find it pretty impressive how the current "Jay" started off as simply a fan who sang J&A songs for many years and one day became "one of them" as it were. That's every fan's dream if you ask me!
That’s not Jay Black, that’s the fake Jay and the Americans who elbowed their way in when the real Jay was not performing as much. They try to pass themselves off as paying homage to Jay Black but, they actually are just copycat cover singers; and that’s all they’ll ever be😏😡
