Nothing surprising since at 18 years old she had already run in 22.39, it's only the start of her season, she is far from being in peak form, she will run even faster in the trials! This girl is amazing.
Look at it like this- you can still drive your r car really fast with the passenger side door wide open, but how much resistance and drag is created by having that thing flail out there? Also potential mechanical & injury issues pop up by flailing that arm out. The injuries are already present. Too many rotation problems. Career will be cut short due to injury.
I was just about to comment on that 😉 I wish Abby was in lane 5. Sydney is way ahead of Abby with her rehab. These announcers act as if Sydney was the only one in the race during the introductions.
@@M.O.G. That's because Sydney is by far the most accomplished athlete in the field. She just backed it up by smoking a talented field of 200m sprinters using this race for speed work. Levels.
Why does it look like another runner on the inside finished 2nd and Steiner finished 3rd, but the results were that Steiner finished 2nd? And it wasnt just the angle.
What has happened to this event? I remember when this was the event that chose the fastest in the world until that yt girl became fast in the 20m. This is the #1 right here!
It’s amazing English Gardner is in the kinda shape to run down Abby Steiner; I am wondering if she’s finally getting back into shape after that crazy injury. She’s still world class…just not her old level.
@@dmvbay2535 yes, but that wasn’t my point. Gardner is more of a starter who holds her speed (although she catches people when in her best shape), while Abby catches people as well. In this race, Gardner caught and passed Abby…showing her top speed is higher right now, which is scary, because Gardner has been out of shape since she got her ACL surgery from her injury! Last year, Gardner was very upset to not make the team and said she’s going to make many changes, but it appeared it is time to hang up her spikes. Now, it is looking like she may have one final breath of life!
When I ran in highschool I used to have a stiff arm its prolly engraved in muscle memory for her by now only problem is maybe it's making her tense up too soon as she isn't really relaxing her body it's great for the drive phase but she could be exerting to much afterwards. My opinion though...
Costa DID NOT run this race correct ... their track is NOT marked for a 4 turn stagger - only a 3 turn stagger - So EVERYONE took off at the 3 TURN STAGGER - but stayed in lanes for ALL 4 TURNS - Only Lane 1 was spaced correct because there are no staggers to worry about ... as you go out in lanes, each lane had to run increasingly further.... THE CORRECT way to run this on a 3 turn stagger would have been to have the 3rg leg runners stay in lane till the start of lane 1 300 hurdles - then cut in afterwards, with the last exchange being the normal free for all in lanes 1 and 2 .....
