Hello, World! Thanks so much for visiting and following me along on my content creation.
I'm based in Manhattan and want to share elements of my life that entail cuisine, DIY, fashion, foodie, style, travel, and of course, all things NYC!
The best part of this journey is all the wonderful connections and people I intercept. Without the support of you as the viewer, I would not be able to take the general risks to go forth in the daily challenges of creating content whilst being able to master the art of conversation in storytelling.
@@2msvalkyrie529 thanks for coming across my channel since I’ve taken a long hiatus (editing hate). You’re not wrong. I understand why these crimes/thefts happen because everyday life can be overwhelming for basic necessities. I was upset, but at the same time shouldn’t have let my guard down believing that the world is “generally a safe place” [like in most of Asia].
Heya so happy to found a genuine video ❤ you documented every thing so wonderfully. Can you advise me 2-3 good clinics in seoul to get this done and out of them i can finalize one which is nearest to my hotel
@@Shilpy1313 Hello, thanks for coming across my video! If you go to any of my referrals, most will know who I am if you say, “Marsha from New York.” ☺️ Nowadays, Sculptra isn’t as popular as JuveLook Volume. It’s similar to Sculptra, but has more HA… I like it better… Decided to continue with it rather than Sculptra. I recently did Juvelook Volume at Banobagi Dermatology (extension of their plastic surgery clinic) back in July. I have visited multiple clinics in the past (I now also live in Seoul a few months out of the year), but I really love Banobagi Group. (Location: Yeoksam-dong neighborhood of Gangnam.) They are also competitively priced. (Dr. Ee 이 was my physician/injector.) I used to go to LEI Clinic (Dr. Cho) a lot more in the video location, but since they moved a few times, needed to go to a location that was easier to get to via metro. You can also consider LienJang Clinic since they also have JuveLook Volume. I’ve been to them before and also great service/rates (largest beauty clinic/surgeons in Seoul with multiple locations in the well-known neighborhoods like Myeong-dong and Gangnam locations). If you also want to do other treatments, a very competitive priced clinic is Ppeum Global (Seocho district of Gangnam) and they do a great job, but they do not have Juvelook Volume. Start with: 1. Banobagi Dermatology 2. LienJang Dermatology 3. LEI Clinic (They do not do a tax refund yet that I know of…) 4. Ppeum Global (I did like Pico Laser treatments to reduce any hyperpigmentation x 12, extractions, mole removals, etc…) Please let me know how it all goes!
Great video. Glad your flight from Seoul to LAX went well. My wife and I will be flying from LAX to Bangkok in August 2024 and I was thinking about flying on Korean Airlines. If you had the choice, would you fly on the A380 again or on the Boeing 787?
@@michaelmartin4366Hi, firstly, safe travels and ever non-rainy season! It was my first time on an A380. I had no complaints. You’ll really enjoy the service on KE into the ICN layover before heading into BKK. The last time I was on a B747 was so long ago. (Despite being fuel inefficient, would like to fly in it just one more time since it’s the Queen of the Skies.) Nowadays the B747 are mostly cargo planes or being slowly phased out by national carriers because of the fuel inefficiency, but nonetheless, A380 likely going forward… unless Boeing has something to offer in the similar vein.
Hello! The prices are more or less similar now and was listed in ₩ (KRW) on the corner of the screen in one of the videos before this (if it wasn’t on this video). You’ll need to convert it to your local currency. I think it’s on the video with the thumbnail image with me lying down/face is covered in gauze.
Hello and thank you! I also did some Sculptra for the under eye area. I’ve never had an issue. Please keep in mind that Sculptra takes 2-3 months to build so it’s not as immediate as other HA-based fillers. If you’re more patient, will see gradual improvements/results, which look the most natural. If you’re looking for more long-term results, I only recommend a fat transfer (fat is removed from your belly or the back of the thighs). There’s a 30-40% fat survival rate from it (depending on age), but the outcome lasts a long time and way more natural.
You mean in 🇰🇷 or in the States? In 🇰🇷, the nurses inject as well provide skin therapy (facial varieties). Only the doctor in 🇰🇷 operated the lasers (aside from injecting, etc.). I can’t remember how it’s done in the States, but I recalled estheticians injecting and operating lasers in NYC from an overpriced dermatology office.
@@MyWorldIsYourOyster well both and yes and no. To start from the beginning nurse use to work bed side ( hospitals). Until the beauty industry got bigger and more popular. Nurses switch over because less work more money. (USA) I’m pretty sure it’s more or less the same for KOREA. Now if you are do a general facial treatment a esthetician can do it w/o a doctors supervision. (USA & Korea) Now for injections, laser or anything that might bleed the client or go pass the Epidermis. This is where it varies. In the USA depending on the state you will need a doctors supervision. Now either they’re physically in the office or within a X mile radius from the laser is being preformed. Now, the person must be have a certificate or license in order to use a laser. ( USA - Depends on the state) NY (certification) FL - License. Now why in the USA Esthetician and/Nurses can fire a laser? It comes down to delegating duties. The actual doctor won’t have time to fire a laser for every client. So they hire nurses or esthetician to do it. Or the doctor main forces on pathology(skin diseases) and not aesthetic services but wants the income. So again they will hire someone else to do it. As for Korea I mainly see doctors fire laser. For the clinic you went to, they just might have the nurses do everything vs hiring nurses and estheticians. I hope that helps.
@@thewadeeffectWow, thanks for the breakdown. Are you in NY or FL? I do know the real estate/labor costs a lot in NYC, so can understand why the doctors delegate duties. At the end of the day, time and money and/or versus money = optimal profits. It’s also so much more competitive in 🇰🇷. There’s filler brands there than are not in the States like HA-based, Chaeum, however, used throughout Europe. It’s also Korean-made and safe/less expensive than what are offered in the 🇺🇸. (I suppose this could be an agreement with certain brands we commonly know to weed out the foreign competition.) In Australia, the labor wages are so high that the typical clinicians/doctors “aesthetics” offices will not have so much help (perhaps one, max two) in the practice. I do know that nurses typically shoot much better than doctors since they do it so often. 💉😃 When I compared the doctors in Seoul 🇰🇷, I can honestly say that I spent more time with them than the nurses. (This could also be because I am not a local patient. Btw there’s two prices: Local vs Foreigner. I was lucky to get local rates since I’m considered an overseas national/2nd generation Korean-American. Otherwise, greedier practices also tried to charge me foreign rates after they probed me about my occupation/residence on paper. $5K difference on the same procedures when I went in for consults. 😒) I was recently in Seoul for 4 months and only returned to NYC in early January. I wish I had the effort/energy to continue with RU-vid, but I’ve lost the vigor for it during the pandemic/2020. Maybe I’ll catch a second wind…
@@MyWorldIsYourOyster The marketing in the USA is based on class/income. Because I follow a lot of Korean dermatology or medspa products I do see a lot of technology. 5k difference 😯!!! Hopefully you will come back.
Hi Jaimi, not at all! I never had any of those issues and wondering why others had this happen. I started it in November 2017 and since then only did it in December 2017, September 2022, and finally in October 2022. Do you know how the others were injected? A cannula was used by my doctor. That could make a big difference with the formula distribution. Feel free to also message my doctor, Dr. Cho, on the ‘gram @lei_clinic. She’s an English speaker in Seoul. I likely also believe the formula could vary in 🇰🇷.
Back in 2017 when I shopped for the new iPhone at that time in one of the Portland Apple stores, they gave me some rule about not being able to sale phones & MacBooks to out of State customers for 1 hour since I’m from Washington because too many Washington and California residents come over and cut in line and create fights every time a new hot Apple product releases.
Hi Ryan, that’s so ridiculous! Do you at least abuse an OR zip code to reduce your mobile phone tax? 🙃 I know NV is also a low mobile tax rate. How can a retailer dictate who is allowed to shop first or not? It should always be first come first serve. Delaware’s Apple Store is the worst from what I know since so many government authorities and visitors come from surrounding areas (another no sales tax state). Shoppers from NYC (where I live) also go down to Delaware by the bus loads just to shop for electronics. My friend in Salem, NH (another no sales tax state) told me over the summer that a group of Chinese tourists bought like hundreds of Apple products and were taking things out of the box packages to reduce bulk in their luggage. 😆
@@MyWorldIsYourOyster after the lecturing from the store employee, then they told me that the specific iPhone I was looking for wasn’t even in stock, so I left with AirPods instead. This was the same store where I had purchased my previous 2 MacBooks in 2009 & 2013. I decided to hold out and wait a little while until my phone broke a few months later then I just purchased a new phone from my local Verizon store. It’s crazy how far people will travel just for devices, in my case I only lived 3 hours away and was already in that area for the weekend.
@@ryanh603whether you’re from WA, there’s still other OR dwellers that don’t even live near a large city. You’re only from across the border. Apple still should let you shop in the order everyone lined up. A 3 hours drive from within OR vs WA should not give one state resident more priority. I felt that it would be the easiest to buy the iPhones from Verizon store at the time when I was in Portland. I upgraded from those iPhone 11 Pro models (shown in the video) back in March 2022, but shipped them to NH. My friend shipped them back to me for less than $10. I saved $200 in sales tax if I bought them in NYC.
@@MyWorldIsYourOyster my rule is if it’s a purchase $1200 or more that I can buy in store and transport myself, I’ll just get it from Oregon. It’s been a while since I did the math but what I’m saving in sales tax has to exceed what I’m spending in gas to drive 200 miles each way from Yakima to Bridgeport Village in Tigard, before I make that decision. My wife and I recently bought our bed from a display store at Bridgeport Village and the sales tax got us because out of state delivery was involved.
@@ryanh603Hi Ryan, hope your MLKJr. holiday has been relaxing. I personally think you should make a day of it and create an eblast to your network about a Tax Free shopping bonanza (as long as they chip in for fuel, etc.). Why should you pay/drive all that way for only your belongings? At least your network can cover the fuel charges. That’s what I do when I let others know I’m going to NH or Delaware. So you’re saying that you purchased this premium bed tax-free in-person, but got price gauged on the freight? 😟 I also know freight can be expensive for extremely bulky/heavy items. (Could you have rented a Uhaul at that point?)
You are totally my tribe. I have been to South Korea and though I didn’t do any treatments, this is totally my thing! I’ve done Sculptra, peels, RF microneedling, lasers… you name it! I was having such a good time living vicariously through you in this video. You’ve got such a great personality. New subscriber!
Thanks so much! I've been out of touch with RU-vid and uploading, but I will soon... I'm finally back in Seoul 🇰🇷 as of last week for about three months! I'm so excited to catch up on beauty treatments. I did my first basic round yesterday to detox my skin, but next week will get into more serious treatments. I can't wait! Be well and thanks for the feedback. xx

Hi Tanya, regardless, you're still beautiful as you are. I know you would love 🇰🇷 and totally worth the medical tourism. Dr. Cho is fantastic. (I'm finally headed back to Seoul since April 2019 due to the pandemic. LEI Clinic will be my first stop.)
@@tanyaflynn4908 many thanks! I will eventually get back on RU-vid, but needed a true break during this time. Stay in touch and let me know what you end up doing in the future.
I didn't like Crazy Rich Asians because I couldn't relate to a lot of rich Asians, as I'm a poor Asian. However, I'll take any diversity I can get. It's not for me, but it may be for other people. I grew up watching Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Donnie Yen.
Hi, I appreciate your point-of-view and thanks for coming across my video. Regardless of your financial status, you still cannot measure a persons true with their assets/bank account. At the end of the day, you can't take any of that with you. Everything in life is temporary.
I'm definitely not a professional 😂. The last mobile phone shattered screen I fixed only took me 45 minutes. It was a Samsung Galaxy A12 (without a frame).
NYU is not even cheaper than regular Invisalign. Nyu charges $275 for X-rays and $200 for brackets, and other places don’t. So basically it’s still 5,000 no matter how u look at it. Diamond braces for example says “oh well give you a discount of $500 making it $4,500 then still charge u $200 a month. Nyu says the more you put down the less your payments will be but the least payment possible is $189 after putting down about $700
Hi Iris, thanks for the inquiry. I look the same as the first video of me flying to 🇰🇷. (The thumbnail of the video is sitting on the airplane.) I would say it lasted me over two years and wore off gradually during the pandemic (spring 2020). I had a total of three sessions within 18 months. I will definitely go back to 🇰🇷 to get it again as soon as I start international air travel again.
OMG 🤣 I don't have veneers, but thank you. My chompers are natural. My dentists told me that I have a nice shape/teeth since I was a teen. I do also recommend activated charcoal toothpaste so they get whiter without bleaching.
@@MyWorldIsYourOyster wow no braces too when younger? So envious! I can believe you haha cos the dentists always say my older son has perfect teeth. I wish I have too. My dentist tells me charcoal isn’t a good idea, it is too abrasive. I was saying your teeth look super straight.
Hi Suzanne, I did a total of 3 sessions within an 18 month span. It honestly lasted me over 2 years. Don't forget your metabolism is a factor. If you have a super fast metabolism, any filler will "fall out" faster. I will go back to 🇰🇷 as soon as I start international air travel again. Sculptra is gradual, so if aren't too concerned about immediate gratification, then I recommend it. I am not into the overly filled look from the other fillers that fall out quickly. Sculptra at least gradually "falls out" if you don't maintain it.
@@suzannemoore6041 I think I had one vial per treatment session. I'll need to find out from Dr. Cho. Have you heard of Bella Fill? I want to try that next time at least in the nasolabial folds.
@@MyWorldIsYourOyster it went horrible 😭 i didn’t know what i was doing even though i thought i watched enough videos and ended up having to get it professionally fixed lol
I'm on a RU-vid break. I honestly don't like editing videos. My personal life got too busy, especially with the pandemic. However, I still have a lot of content to upload when I get back on with Life Updates.
I get sculptra, but was told I can't get it under eyes, to much risk of lumps under the thin skin. He did put it in my upper cheeks. Just got it done. 1st 2 vials 2 weeks ago today, so will see how well it works. I'm 46, guessing I may need more.
Hi Monica, have many sessions did you get? I only got a total of three in about an 18 month span. Sculptra isn't the best filler for under your eyes, but slight placement isn't going to be unheard of... I want to go back to 🇰🇷 as soon as I'm more comfortable with international travel. LEI Clinic will be my first stop. 😆
@@MyWorldIsYourOysterHi, I had 2 treatments total 4vials total. My doctor didn't place any in my tear troughs, but just under that a bit. It has lifted my cheek s bit to wear my under eye area isn't bugging me as much! 😉 He placed some in my cheeks temples buccal cheek area jaw and nasal labial folds. Just had my 2nd round about 2 weeks ago, won't know the full effect for a few weeks. I am a bit worried this time as I have a couple of small lumps. 1 in temple 2 on jaw, closer to my ear. I can't see the jaw one, but the temple, I can ever do slightly see, but can feel it. Called my Dr. He told me to just continue to massage! It's been a little over 2 weeks! Hoping it's nothing!! Good luck with your journey! 😊
TWO-SWIPE transport has been in standard in many places internationally. In London you have your ticket or Oyster or whatever and you touch it both times. Same with the Washington DC Metro. When you have a two-swipe system you eliminate almost all fraud.
You stole my Census2020 buildings on Park Avenue after I'd phoned up and staked them out. Karel ("Karl") at the Ritz says you bought the people "lunch" as reward for compliance.
Hey I need help so I bought a new phone screen for my iPhone 8 plus and since I'm no professional I'm thinking of getting the screen on with a nearby repair shop and they say it would cost like $40 to get it on and $100 if my screen doesn't work is that Ummm like fair or what the $40 I mean ty for the help ;(

The version of Batiste you used is an epic fail because you used the original WRONG Batiste. It’s not suitable for us ladies with dark hair. Batiste is very popular in Canada also not just the UK and a big can only costs $4 here 🇨🇦👍 So, instead you need to buy the Batiste can formulated for only dark hair - it’s amazing and gives a beautiful healthy sheen with volume. No white residue at all! It’s a game changer. It adds a slight dark brown/black colour to your roots and hair. I love it ❤️ 💯 it’s the BEST out of all the versions you presented here.
@@MyWorldIsYourOyster And, I will disagree with you. We can agree to disagree 😉👍 Ethics aside, the Batiste for darker hair is still the superior product, and works much better than the Not Your Mother’s. That is the main point at hand. I applaud Not Your Mothers for their ethics though 👏🏻
