He's playing a Bach 10 1/2C mouthpiece, which was Jack Sheldon's size also. Both had great tone. It proves you don't need a large mouthpiece to sound good.

Stan Kenton used to record around the corner from My Grandparents' N Bronson Ave 1922 home at Capitol Melrose at @5515 Melrose Ave, LA, Hollywood, as did Nat Cole & Sinatra, Peggy Lee & Keeley Smith, etc...

A Great guy!!! I played with him on an almost daily basis in Vegas. He played piano and I played tenor and we played his original tunes. Needless to say, I learned a lot! RIP Carl and thank you!

Kenton alumni band -what a stupendous idea! Saw the band in the mid-seventies at the Frog and Nightgown in Raleigh -small club with outstanding acoustics -best musical night of my life!
