I believe the main difference is MK3 is better at Single Target Damage, especially its heavy attack which deals more damage to single target, whereas MK6 both light and heavy attach has a “wider” attack able to hit multiple enemies (but less damage for single enemies) Personally for me in Auric I feel the biggest challenge is managing the onslaught of hordes and elites and specials, hence I choose MK6 over MK3 Again up to personal preference and with the new update you can easily switch between both Marks of combat knife (ie MK3 and MK6) with the same weapon! (You can access from Inventory Menu) Also sharing another Reddit post with other users discussing about this, hope it helps! www.reddit.com/r/DarkTide/comments/1cvoyyh/which_combat_knifeblade_is_better_mk_vi_or_mk_iii/
Hi I just updated my build and yes definitely it’s still good to run with a combat knife! For the flamer it’s quite hit and miss for me, so now I run auto pistol with inspiring barrage (given that perks are easier to get with the new update) Link to my build here: darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9d24074a-a07c-4d68-bf1b-6eac06993647/zealot-combat-knife-auric-maelstrom-ready-post-lnl-update-meta-build? Also forgot to mention I started using MK6 combat knife, which has “wider” light and heavy attack patterns, and hence much better at managing mixed hordes!
Hi I think partly because the optimisation for this game is still not that great, and I would prefer higher framerate than better looking graphics! This laptop is also actually 3 years old I think the GFX card is kinda middle range now. Would suggest trying out each of the settings and see which works for your laptop/PC best :)
Bleed on crit is only good with crit builds. I assume crit chance with this build is around 50% which means on average you are landing 4.5 bleed / hit (8 from the blessing and 1 from Scourge, this averages out at the same bleed count as Lacerate) however you have the significant downside of it being completely inconsistent. Beyond that, 30% of our crit chance comes from Scourge which only begins stacking when you hit an enemy that is already bleeding. This means you begin combat with around 20% crit chance, and until you crit, none of the enemies are bleeding, which means Scourge can't proc and your crit chance doesn't increase. With only 20% crit chance, our odds of not critting for extended periods of time are pretty high + since we only bleed on crit there is the added chance of outright killing the enemy with our crit and therefore not being able to attack a bleeding enemy to increase crit chance.. Lacerate makes Scourge proc consistently at the beginning of combat because it's a guaranteed bleed. This allows you to rapidly reach 50% crit chance in all encounters, and since it's 100% consistent, you can memorize breakpoints on different enemies to know exactly how many hits it takes to kill a crusher or gunner etc.. In the context of this build where we're running Mercy Killer, instantly proccing bleed on enemies is going to be even more important. I have played probably over 10h with bleed on crit and every time I switch back to lacerate, it's night and day. I would replace Mercy Killer with Uncanny Strike though, it's absolutely goated when paired with Lacerate and even more so alongside a flamer. The rending stacks you get from U.S. affect your burn and bleed which allows you to delete entire patrols of Crushers.
I run stamina to get the 4th stamina shield for push attacks. I run out with only 3. I run attack speed stamina on the mace and sword and crit chance and crit power or crit and power vs. armored on the executioner as attack speed is pointless due to me never using the sword unless I come up against armor. Everything else I run the same except shrapnel. I see everyone that runs the meta build using your exact specs but I like the extra stamina and find the speed on the x sword not worth it. Since x sword has a strong chance of crit on the heavy I want that crit power to hopefully one shot armor. Just my build. Correct me of I am wrong as I am open to changing it up if it is indeed way better.
on cataclysm the exe can't reach a one shot breakpoint for chaos warriors unless you run virtue of knightly temper and you crit. even with 3 stacks of ideal and smiter it's a two shot headshot chaos warrior so you'd be better off running speed or BCR. having said that, virtue of knightly temper can be very fun, one shotting CW on cata with a crit is immensely satisfying, though you don't need crit power to hit that breakpoint, just pv chaos on the charm
