I go Gunzeling (Train Spotting / Rail Fanning) Every now and again. Most (if not all) of my Videos are taken within Victoria, Australia. I am posting a lot more videos of model trains. mainly taken at AMRA ( the Australia Model Railway Association) Vic Branch, on their main HO scale layout, The Stonnington Valley Railway.
There was an episode that was never completed called "The Missing Coach" which originated from two small stories from the book by Rev W Awdry, "THE Twin Engines," book of Donald and Douglas, called "Hullo Twins" & "The Missing Coach." Those two shots SIR Topham looking at Douglas scornfully and the other with his vack turned I believe came from this unfinished episode.
@@SharkytheGunzel Yes. I believe they are the same locos as the famous 'Lady Norrie' loco set which hauled the Overland in the 1960s? I live in Adelaide but hoping to move back to Melb and start a layout with a mix of VR, V/line, NR & ANR lead trains. And I'd love to secure one of the VR DERM's. Cheers.
Try and find a more realistic model rail layout anywhere in the world to compare to this! One question though; why isn't the Overland stopping at Beaufort? Lol 😉
The original stable shed is still there.I used to sometimes catch the train into the city at around 5 pm when they were bring the Southern Aurora & Spirit of Progress across to Spencer St.Those were great days for train spotting .
What a nice variety of horns. 0:57 is that X37? Because i heard it got preserved in 2017 by SRHC and is currently stored awaiting operational restoration.
Great work and so perfect but missing the telegraph poles… or were these not used for signal transmission on this section of line? I guess they might also unnecessarily obstruct the viewing angles? It might also be hard to model them…was just curious if any had actually done that before.
Why aren't any of the passenger trains stopping at Beaufort? I'm sure the V/Line Horsham trains stopped there in the 90s. All those people on the station must be getting pissed off. 😡
Absolutely rip-snorting video!!! Fantastic sound recording of that brilliant engine in notch eight. I can watch this over and over. Well done on great filming 👏👏👏👏
A lovely bit of modelling and capturing time and place. I really like the way the ballast, grass and trees add to the scenarios along the line. Thank you so much for sharing.
People the Dining car doesn't go ahead or behind the the Skyline. It actually belongs 4 times from the tail end of the train, what it does is separate 1st Class Passengers from 2nd Class and Coach Passengers. The Skyline separates 2nd Class Passengers from Coach Passengers. In other words 1st Class Passengers can't go passed the Dining Car. 2nd Class Passenger can't go passed the Dining Car or the Skyline Dome. And Coach passengers can't go behind the Skyline Dome. If Coach Passengers want to eat something they can only get in the Skyline. And this because Coach Passengers don't have meal tickets. 2nd Class Passengers have meal tickets and can eat in either the Skyline of Dining Car. On the CP Rail train the the baggage Dorm, Dining Car and Chateau's are all back wards. On the Maroon consist only the Dining Car and Chateau's are back wards. For both these trains the cars should be lined up like this. Baggage Dorm, two coaches, Skyline, Manor, Chateau, Dining Car, Manor, Chateau, Park Car. Don't believe look at some photo's on the internet. I'm only commenting on the CP Run Canadian's because I worked at CPR for 28 years. When VIA started running the Canadian everything changed no rime or reason for any of it. You should look at video's of these trains in any case to get a better idea of how they are put together. I'm finished my rant now, these are only suggestions you run your trains the way you want after all it's your layout.
