Forgive me darling, but I must correct you on cannibal corpse as a template as to what death metal should sound like. it was the 90's after all so the scooped sound was a thing amongst most bands. I will say that Cannibal Corpse set the standard for today's typical gory death metal, but in terms of musicianship and sound I would say Entombed left hand path, and death's first 3 albums were more important. cannibal merely took what they did and added the more extreme themes. My apologies if I seem rude.
Wow, that was amazing. I do have to say that was a very good review of cannibal corpses newest album but you’re so right they have ever put out a bad album. They have been solid and consistent from the start you know each album obviously will change in sound, but they have been brutally consistent with each album. That’s why they have such a massive following. You did a good job. I really enjoyed it. Nice work.
I love this film so much. I was 15 when it came out and pretty much a lone metal head at school, so this was like my saviour when it came out. Saw it in the cinema and rented it loads from the video shop. Just even seeing the posters of Anthrax, Ozzy and everyone on the walls in the film was like a blessing to be a metalhead. No idea how important this film was for young metallers.. I was so alone at that time and felt ostracised by society and school.. seeing the same for the protagonist was so important to me at a vulnerable time, really felt ok being me after watching it- and still do. Haven't tried to raise the dead or stuff tho.... and Fastway rocks the soundtrack. I've got 4 copies of this today- DVD, Bluray, Digital and original VHS cos I'm still old school. If ever a film needed a remake for modern metal.. it would be this! Make it a Black Metal/Death Metal group.. cast a singer from the scene.. make a supergroup of the best of the best in Death Metal and write a banging soundtrack.. I'd love to see that! This album is one of the best rock debut albums of all time. it may be the best album Metal Church ever released. The song, "Metal Church," is a top five hard rock/metal track of all time.
I never had a question about how it makes feel it makes me excited and happy and relaxed to forget ones troubles and worry if only for a little while the day after a good heavy show i also feel energetically motivated

Hi. Great review. Made me go listen to the album. Been a bit disconnected form Cannibal Corpse for a few years since I thought all the recent album kinda sounded the same. Not that it's bad that a band keeps their sound intact and does their thing but it became a bit predictable. LOVE Chaos Horrific though. Thanks for gently steering me home to port. Subbed.
Cool episode. I love the Scorpions, although I must admit I have not heard the recent album. Live After Death would have been my first choice for live album too.
Meh, as much as I loved this group they have been recently releasing albums that are...ok. This one is NOT a masterpiece. Neither is Violence Unimagined nor Red Before Black. The last album I really liked (that felt like CC) was Skeletal Domain. You can feel change in songwriting after this album.
