What would cause a black tar like substance to build up in the tank? The make up water was tested for manganese and iron. There was none present. When diluting the black substance and testing it for iron, we found high iron residual. The tank was only a week or 2 old before this substance completely destroyed it.

how do I get the air handler to energize the fan ( while the thermostat is in the auto position ). My humidistat is calling for humidity, but I need the fan to start to close the air flow switch. Is there a dry set of contacts in the Nortec to close R and G in the AHU, should I want the unit to humidify?
