always loved the Clovelly Herring especially the soft roe, in the 70s we used to come down from Bideford for a lobster meal, and it was a Perham who had the little restaurant , later on Viv Foster got us our entry into Cape Breton Canada beautiful memories. 🙏♥
I remember him from when I was a child, riding his horse around the village. On a Sunday he’d often lead the kids from Sunday school around the church dancing to Lord of the Dance. He was a very kind man.
Love these dying crafts, I don't suppose they put a dent in the salmon population. I'm a rod fisherman and don't mind these at all it's the commercial fisheries that do the damage.
The reason there's none left is cause 37 people netting and used to catch 300 and then they ask why there's so little left and why the fishing season is shorter lmao
I used to live on slerra Hill when I was a kid. I used to go donkey riding every Saturday and Sunday with Sue and most of my class mates. I rode Spotty and Oscar. I remember kiwi too. Hope you are all well xxxx
I used to net fish on the River Dart near Stoke Gabriel , with my uncle and father and cousin , back in the 70's when you could make good money, 14 hour day in the summer months , no licences any more, just memories .
Hi James,, when you built these did you do anything in the ground floors to help alleviate any Radon issues that may arise as this is a high area? as this is a new build ,wondered if you looked at this issues when renovating.. Appreciate your comments please Paul Johnston
certainly hope they are not finishing, although they are here next week in the Park the site they commonly take is now a building site. I knew when that happens we may have changes. I look forward to hearing about Septembers plans, I usually record the Carnival and Fair on my youtube channel. I am also looking for footage from 80/90s arcades for historic reasons. Very interesting what you done here.
Sorry but you can't say you're "giving back to the community" when these "luxury apartments" sold for over £200,000 each. Local youngsters will never be able to afford these flats; who are they for? Who profited off this? No wonder so many of Pilton and Barnstaple's youngsters leave the area.
