Yes. So not to hurt himself especially his leg. We also need to lift ourselves while he is doing that so we won't be a dead meat over him. We go up the same time.
Great idea to try ballroom dancing. I like more active sports but as we reach our 60s and 70s, it sounds like ballroom dancing like the interviewee said is good for health and more in tune with our physical abilities. I will look for more interviews from Irene especially with both men and women in their 60s and 70s.
Ballroom dancing is versatile. Can we super active sport if you want it to be. It look fun and graceful but if you put in effort, it is one of the most intensive sports I have found. Of course, the beginning of learning anything could be a bit slow but if you tell your teacher what you want, they will help you achieve. I hope to see you in the dance floor soon.
Irene. You are a great natural interviewer who comes across as human. Glad your interviewee has found something she enjoys. However she comes across as being a little too self absorbed. BTW a very high HDL is not always a good thing. It is however wonderful to have the time to do exactly what you want regardless of what else may be playing in your life. Not everyone can just leave their jobs. Irene, I’d love to hear a segment of a person who is more representative give their views using your authentic interviewing style.
Lovely example of how an elderly person can enjoy dancing and not worry about the trappings of being concerned with expertise. Anything that can help an elderly person get exercise and help maintain mobility is great. Bucket lists are great. Kudos to Irene for highlighting older persons and removing elderly stigma.
Hi Ladies, I finally got to finish watching the interview. I met Amber at USDC, actually chating online first and then by the pool. Amber - your personality & presence is fantastic; you exude confidence and now I know why. I think we need Joanne Kay Smith to talk about standing-spins lol or one of the Pros - Jamie Tuft (I do watch her performances over and over). I did a balance seminar with her during Covid, so I'm working on that but if you stop you lose it. Also yoga poses like half moon help. Then working on Partnership balance (physics of the move) and as Natalie Jolley said "just keep practicing". But I love learning whatever I can from others. We're all dance sisters in this Journey!
