Hi, thanks for sharing. I no have experience with repros on pcb mapers. Before desoldering, do you know if it is possible to make a Legend of Zelda (mmc1 to mmc3) with a where's waldo? .From already thank you very much
awesome repair! I messed up my own install of the DCHDMI... but it was not as horrid as this one and that makes me feel good! ha! all my mistake was not aligning the pads correctly on the video chip... then I desoldered the flex cable and resoldered it back on... that's when it was game over for me! I ended up knocking a few pads off the video connections.... and that's because I dragged the braid across when removing the solder, bad mistake! anyway I already ordered a couple of new flex cables and will try again.... my hopes are really high that that's the only thing I messed up on the install and it will work
Very nice video and really interesting to see what kind of options there are still left when an installation has gone wrong. Only thing I'd like to see some more are some closeups when you're doing your magic on the board :)
Hi Bjorn, I hope you are great. I just watched your video and it totally blew my mind by the quality of your work. I do own a Panasonic Q, I have not been able to use it since it was never modded and I am completely interested on getting all the mods you offer (US Switch + GCVIDEO HDMI & 3D Holder). Is there any way I can contact you directly? Also, I wanted to know if it´s possible to also add an EUR Switch to play European coded games, maybe? I will be looking forward to your reply, thanks.
Hello bjørn, i have a defect panasonic Q with no cables. I testet it with a powercable but its looks like maybe there is something wrong with the fuse. Getting no power. Would you like to help me fix it?
Bjorn, I have watched your videos and as an old mod installer you are very professional and patient. I loved your work on the Q. Keep up the great work and you will get more subscribers but you really need to do more videos or split longer videos into parts to keep peoples attention. Keep it up.
So my Q has a couple of weird issues. I can power it up and the LCD Display Shows DVD/CD. I also get the DVD Video Splashscreen on my TV. However, none of the buttons on the front of the unit then work. It won't respond to Eject so I can't eject the DVD Drive and I can't press Game to switch into GameCube mode for instance :(.
Hi Dave, i would try to replace the SMD caps on the "control board" below the DVD drive. If they go none of the front buttons work... if you press eject, do you hear a click (motor?) or is it completely dead ?
Wow! Such amazing work. I just received my kit today and I've been trying to find someone perfect for the job. Would you be interested in doing my Console?
Hello! My Digital AV out port is not working at all, only the composite, would installing a GCVideo mod fix my issues? I have already replaced the ribbon cable for the digital out port and it still doesn't work.
Hi Elisa, on the composite out port you get the gamecube screen ? if so most likely the GC motherboard is dead (you can replace this with a normal gamecube motherboard but you have to desolder the digital port and resolder the flexcable port.)
Is there any chance you could share the 3d printed file you created with us? I'm planning on doing this with mine here in Brazil but i don't understand very well these 3D prints (altough i have a friend that does these 3d prints, so he could print it for me). Also, you think it could be possible to convert the input voltage from 110v to 220v by swapping some capacitors/VDR/Fuse?
Hi, contact me for the file (info@cb-pc.be) . As for the powersupply be carefull it's not just changing the caps etc to run it on 220v, the coil also has to have the ratio changed... don't get me wrong it's do-able but not "easy" (a 220v to 110v external convertor is "easyer" and safer) good luck !
The GCvideo boards takes the digital signals from the gamecube part and makes HDMI signals from this. it's not an analog upscaler, so no it is not possible to use the gcvideo to get hdmi from the dvd part
Hi. My Panasonic Q doesnt turn on, only red standby light. Can i try to swap the mainboard from a standard Ntsc-j gamecube to the Q? I dont have tools to check capacitors. Have taken the Q apart and checked after broken ones tho... Sorry for my english.
Hi, you can swap the mainboard but you have to solder some connectors of the 'original' mainboard and put them on your donor board. Your problem has nothing to do with the mainboard tough. There is a problem on one of the 2 power boards ! if you look at my video on 1:15 you can see the 2 powerboards... your problem is on one of them ... good luck !
@@bjorncollaer3047 Allright, many thanks! Can i use a multimeter on the 2 two power boards and look for correct voltage ? Since i dont have any tools for measuring capacitors.
I don't have a service manual with all the voltages. You don't need to check the voltages. If you want your console to work again and stay working again for years to come, just change all the caps ... much easyer then finding the one that's defective. Eventually another will go bad and you will have to search again.
Hello again. Today i got a Panasonic Q for parts. I replaced top cover on the defect i had with standby light and then it powered on. When pressing buttons in front every button works, but not the correct one. If i press reboot, surround turns on and so.. Any things i can try to get both working? I have now 1 good and 1 spare.
Question, i'm not sure if you know the answer here. I recently purshased a Panasonic Q, but it wont power on. It only have a red standby light light on. What could be the problem here? I'm only looking at it scratching my head
Hi, sorry for the late answer. You probably have a bad power cap somewhere on the powerboard, wich is preventing the console to switch on. check is you find a cap like this -> www.markdigital.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/bulging_capacitors.jpg
Hi have some questions hoping you can help Bjorn here is the quick story:Bought a Q from over seas it was damaged in shipping sold as stuck drive door everything else works I replaced the rails with new ones, replaced the belt drive is ready to go but having control panel issues: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LkASnqMJZHQ.html Hope you can help?
Hi, if you remove the belt and push the open close button what happens ? can you see the motor spin ? i had to test with serveral sizes of new belts for it to work. just a little bit to small / tight and it won't budge ...
Very good video, I have a Panasonic Q stripped and awaiting parts, and found you by accident , I'll now change the capacitors, as well, while it's stripped ..cheers ( 👍👌)
Good luck ! Be sure to change all the caps on the 2 power boards, then you should be set for quite a while ;-) There is a small battery on the front side pcb (where you plug in the controllers), best to change this also.
