As an 81 year old woman sailor, this is wonderful. In the 70's I crossed oceans with sextant and 20 gallon water tank. It changed my life. Made me unafraid on land. What a feat for her.
Keep on Sailing Nancy. There are two guys at our sailing club that are both 82 and 83 years old. They are fleet captains and are the best racers at the club. It is truly amazing to watch them race. They find the wind that others cannot see.
An amazing achievement Kirsten and an inspiration to all sailors, especially the younger generation. In this age of technology and GPS, it's wonderful that sailors are still able to navigate using the art of celestial navigation. When I started sailing many years ago it was all we had, and if younger sailors can be persuaded to learn it by your example then you have certainly achieved something. Fair Winds!.

Our whole family have had such a wonderful time watching this race. Kirsten Neuschäfer, has sailed an incredible race. Minnehaha is a magnificent lady of a boat.
Just watching this again because her team put it up on fb. Such a great story. So far she has given it her all and her best. She never looked back nor gave up.
I have nothing to say but praise and admiration towards Kirsten as I have witnessed her GGR race. Living here in Canada maybe this makes my connection feel even closer. Kirsten your life goals have surpassed anything I have done in my life yet I have done enough to be able to relate.
