Trim position indicator. The EIS Aux inputs are sometimes used to read trim position (and/or flaps position) and send it to the graphical EFIS display. This is commonly used with Ray Allen trim position sensors which change resistance with position (potentiometer). Wiring them results in a voltage related to the position that the EIS can convert into a number, and then the graphical EFIS display can scale the numbers onto a left/center/right or up/center/down line with pointer.
Thanks for this, Jerry. These are fantastic units but the documentation is tragic. I have been flying with my HXr for about 18 months now and your videos helped me with a couple of unresolved questions.
App is not of much use for flight planning unless you want to just use "Direct to". It is not intuitive for making changes such as inserting a new location before or after an airport. It doesn't seem that there was any development or improvement to the app after the initial release. Just my honest opinion. It is easier just to enter the flight plan on the EFIS itself.
The app works with the Sport SX, Sport EX, and Sport 10.1, with a USB Bluetooth adapter (IOGear GBU521). The Sport SX and EX require a USB 2.0 hub also. It doesn't work with the Sport WS or Sport HS.
Nice to show it can do that. But what specs and what camera was used is information that is important. If you dont provide that info you are wasting your time.
What a shame to have such wonderful information but with so much background noise that you can’t stand to try and listen to it. Please, please, try again!
Apologies as I'm still working on my IFR rating, but aren't you required to stay above minimum altitude until you've got the runway environment in sight, even if you haven't yet reached the missed approach point?
Our newer HXr software and our 10.1 model software have a split screen mode for the flight plan functions. I don't see updated screenshots on our web site or main manual but they are in the manual for the built-in approach procedure option in the Horizon 10.1.
Hi Jerry, just wondered what kind of power backup you are using for your EIS & EFIS, and if you would be willing to share you wiring schematic. I have a three screen GRT WS setup. Thanks! sam@fr8dog.net
What if ATC clears you to “intercept the XYZ 320 degree radial outbound to join V 123 then as filed” will the GRT be able to do that using only internal gps as a nav source ? How would you set that up ? Please show all work......
Jerry, just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you putting this video series together. I keep coming back to it every year for a refresh reminder on good technique for flight. Thanks a ton!!! Howard
Jerry, Thanks so much for the HXr series. Just put the 10.4 Touch Screen HXr into my restored Velocity that I built 27 years ago. Look forward to getting back into the IFR seat with the new panel. Amazing the kind of choices we have with experimental type airplanes that the certificated crowd cannot take advantage of. The upcoming GRT IFR approach software is a welcome addition.
Pug Philo HI. I just installed EIS 400/600 with GRT sport ,all works fine except oil presure showing 8 bars with no working engine .Rotax 912 1oo hp new one with a new type sender .Analog guage showing correct but once connect to EIS shown 8 bars after turn ignition switch. The guage it's a UMA .Please help if you can .Thank uou
Perhaps posting a PDF of this would have given as much help as your so called "tutorial" and you could have saved a bunch of money and employee time. GG man, find someone that knows how to instruct actual people/users that would like to use your product.
