No, it's surprising smooth when riding. You can feel a slight throb at tick over but it's more like a pulse and not uncomfortable or significant.

It's not a significant difference but it did feel a little more lively and free revving after both mods. Probably added 1 or possibly 2 bhp but it's still not going to win any races... not that's the point of the bike.

@leighcoulson2148
@leighcoulson2148 20 дней назад
Hello, I don't find it too bad after an hour but often stop every now and then on a longer rides of 2-5 hours anyway (food, fuel, veiws or visting something). I think I get more aches and pains driving my car or sitting in an arm chair for an hour or so but that's more of an age thing. Also I think it does take a little while to get accustomed to riding, whether completely new to it or even riding different motorbikes. Plus I used to (and occasionally still do) ride pushbikes for hours, so the classic 350 with it's generous seat and suspension is a bit of a luxury.
@l0ner1der
@l0ner1der 20 дней назад
I come from a cycling background too and can ride a push bike for a couple of hours with no issues but the C350 has me feeling pretty sore across the shoulders after an hour or so. It must be because I'm new to it, much more weight than a push bike, I obviously need more practice! Thanks for the videos though, I will keep watching 👍

Hello. I use a Movo wireless mini duo microphone and a mic adapter from Insta 360. You can get the Movo system for around £50 (from Amazon) and the adapter for around £10 (from the Insta 360 store), so it's one of the cheaper options but works fine. I've moved the mic around in different positions on the bike but settled for attaching it to the rear of the canvas pannier on the Classic 350 to capture the exhaust sound but you could use it to speak into etc as well.

Nice looking ride. Notice you're running CooperB bar risers. I'm thinking of doing the same. How do you find them in terms of comfort?
@leighcoulson2148
@leighcoulson2148 Месяц назад
The bar risers make quite a difference. I liked the look and feel of the original riding position but my old arthritic body parts weren't so keen. I was getting quite a bit of pain in my wrists, hands, shoulders and neck after 40 - 50 miles. After fitting the bar risers I can do double (or triple) that without much discomfort. Your'e still not upright but they make quite a difference. I also angled the bars back a little (moving the little guides out of the way). They're a little bit of a faff to fit, you'll need a bike jack, drop the forks etc and it's easier if you have an assistant but well worth it for me. They're a reasonable price and don't look too bad either.
@robjulian4148
@robjulian4148 Месяц назад
@@leighcoulson2148 Cool, thanks. Weirdly, I bought a pair of the bar extenders before I actually bought the bike! It was just a spur to get me to commit to the purchase. Anyway, I'm in two minds or not whether to fit them as I''m experimenting with different grips to see if that makes a difference, and like you, I like the look of the originals, they're just a tad too low. I did swap out the seat though for the 'premium deluxe' touring version which is wider but still stepped and more comfortable.

@leighcoulson2148
@leighcoulson2148 Месяц назад
Unfortunately I can't post a map directly in here. The whole route was quite a complicated affair, keeping to smaller twisty roads from Durham, however most of the video just shows a relatively small section between Grinton/Askrigg/Muker (with a little bit showing Raby Castle and the road from Richmond to Reeth, another great motorcycling road). Anyway the twisty section was from: Grinton - along Swale Hall Lane (from a very small road junction just south of the Swale and B6270 junction in Grinton ...however this bit is very narrow and very steep in places ...it is possibly to join this road west of Healaugh if you want to bypass this bit) , this road continues but its designation changes to Low Lane and High Lane, then Long Road (heading to Askrigg), it's quite a climb. As you descend nearing Askrigg you meet another road at a T junction (Cross Top), from there you turn north again (almost back on yourself), along the aptly named Cross Top Road. This road meets the B6270 between Muker and Gunnerside. From here I continued on through Gunnerside to Feetham. At Feetham there's a small road heading up out of the village to Langthwaite. However as an alternative, the road to Reeth is very nice too. There's so many other great options in this area (To the west and north - Hawes, Thwaite, Buttertubs,Tan Hill, The Stang and to the south into Nidderdale etc)

Then last year I bought the Himalayan as I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I just sold an RV and part of the deal was I got a Suzuki Boulevard C50. It’s cool but I’m selling it to my dad. And this year I’m definitely buying a Classic 350. There’s just something about RE bikes. Enjoy the ride!

Any fall/crash would cripple you at your age😮. . .guess you decided it's worth the risk. I sold my bike when I was 52, thinking I'd never recover from a fall unlike multitudes of old guys on RU-vid riding in their 60s
@leighcoulson2148
@leighcoulson2148 2 месяца назад
Most probably. I think everyone has their own formula to weigh up the risk and benefits depending on a lot of things. For me, at 64 (and I've always been very active) my feet🦶, right knee 🦵 and hip hurts just walking to the local shop and working in my garden 🌻gets me everywhere ...and it's not going to get better for any of us. So I'll keep doing the things I enjoy until I can't, and there's always risks🍷🏍🚲🤟. I suppose it's actually a little safer than riding my pushbike at over 50mph downhill with a thin layer of lycra for protection (which I very recently would often do).

I loved it so much that I got a beautiful Canyon Red INT650 (which I've loved for 16k miles)) instead. I was only a year and 10,000 miles back into riding, and that Continental GT made me feel so cool I knew I would get way too cocky for my current skill level with it. I love the riding position of the INT but would love to give a Conti GT a go again. Perhaps I'll get a new one in a year :)

I loved the chrome version too but thought I'd be distracted by the gleam whilst riding (my eyes are a bit sensitive). I was also tempted by the Interceptor and Super Meteor and sat on both in the show room. Whilst I really loved the look, feel and riding position of the Continental ...after a while my old arthritic wrists and shoulders started to play up on longer rides, so I ended up fitting bar risers (From CooperB Motorcycles), which are quite subtle and make a huge difference to comfort.

@@pgeraf I use an Insta 360 x3 camera mounted on a selfie stick, which is then clamped onto my handlebars on an adjustable mount (or sometimes my engine bars). So if I extend the selfie stick and move it around on the mount, either to the side or infront etc. you can get shots that appear to be away from the bike. The camera removes the selfie stick from the video but you can still see the mount (and you can get a bit of distortion where the camera stitches views from both camera lenses). With the 360 camera you can also edit the video to show any veiwpoint/angle, as it records the full 360 view and zoom in and out to a certain degree. It probably looks odd having a selfie stick sticking out the side or from of the bike ...and you have to watch the camera doesn't hit something (like bushes/tree branches growing close to the edge of the road on narrow lanes) but it does take some interesting shots.
