That was almost like he did it on purpose, like that was a perfect stall to backfly, then maintained parachutal. haha! Hope he had his PLF ironed out that was a hard hit!
reacted well at the beginning, but when overcompensation began on the left, an inadequate reaction began, as a result of which the wing stalled.... and it was only necessary to loosen the left side
In my opinion, the pilot is not a bad one. Its a bad situation and anyone has to ask itself, if you do it better. After, anybody is much better in save this situation. Of course, to much break input on the left side, but....
Glider did exact what the pilot told it to do. And he got the cravate out in the process. To bad the altitude wan't sufficient. He should have continued in a straight line to get more ground clearance and sort it out. Obviously ha knows how to get cravates out, but was to quick.
Just as he kited it up to launch, the air was turbulent. One should think that the bad air would continue for a few moments, so best to bring the wing back down and wait. Flags showed it was strong base wind and a tucked in launch like that with a sharp ridge above is a bad combo. Yes pilot PIO didn't help & those heavy hands on the brakes.
Wow, a coconut! Plus the wing opened back up exactly at the same time as he threw the reserve! Probably good to throw that low though as looks like the wing was getting ready to spiral
Wow what a twist so quickly, good thing it didn't go into nose down spiral. I have never had a twist from a collapse (yet) but always have it in mind as probably most do ;) Nice to see you back Gone wrong guy!
Not to lomg ago i was in this exact situation. Caught in a venturi, going backwards with nothing but trees below. There was one tiny spot that looked like a postage stamp. My low B doesn't glide well on speed bar, but i needed it to penetrate and make it. Just. I was very very lucky.
Ah it's a decent save, but if he hadn't pushed full speedbar maybe he wouldve actually made it to a safe landing zone thanks to a better glide ratio? (Absolute noob here)
