lifeboat navigation strongly recommends having a slide to do the math when navigating. electronics in a wet environment are not reliable and working fixes by hand take too long the sexant is the back up to gps.....people need to know both if they explore the oceans
Genuinely glad there are safety glasses available. Please remember to store flammables in a flammable's cabinet, read SDSs, and periodically evaluate the condition of your Li-ion stash 💚
I purchased a 1962 Engineering Statics and Dynamics textbook. I am solving the problems using an inherited 71-years-old Post Versalog 1460 slide that I inherited. I am finding it fun and helpful.
I think this speaks volumes about just how flexible and plastic the brain is. Through out the entirety of our evolution, going back to the very beginnings of life on earth, gravity has always been a factor to consider, and it's reflected in our physiology. You would assume that experiencing gravity would be hard wired in our brains, beyond forgetting, but no, it's learned and if the situation demands it, it can be forgotten for the sake of a whole new way to interact with your environment. That's so fascinating to me and really puts into question just how much of what we assume "human nature" truly is just "nature."
I’m in my 50s, got my Bachelors 5 years ago. I was a bit of a smartass, but could backup my antics. I got all As, not because I was smarter, but was more mature and had more real-world experience. In Intro to Accounting, the professor said our first quiz was to be done without electronic calculators. So the day of the test, I pulled out my drafter’s ruler and slide rule. 😊😊😊
It's great to see there are still people who could think and care for others. As long as there are such kind-hearted and conscientious people, the world will continue to be a place worth living in.
Just fantastic! I was hoping there’s a robot ( sorry, very Jetsons) to help single women, etc move furniture/ I hurt my back moving things all the time, but your beautiful designs are something altogether more wonderful. Are you seeking investors?
I'm wondering if you are still doing "rival" teaching, and if so, have you tried group sessions, where you have one assistant and multiple birds. I feel that this could have the birds compete for competence much like a human class... May need to start it with birds who are already skilled as it is in human teaching - that is, we go to school after learning speech and basic functions
Wooden chair I had in my apartment. Bought it at Arsenal Mall, brought it home by bus and carried it back to Westgate over my shoulder. Still use it every day.
I can't believe I stumbled on this interesting article and was surprised to fine the first post being mine from 7 years ago! One advantage, hardly mentioned anymore as such, is that having to keep track of the decimal point in your head and be limited to 3 significant digits is great training for loving scientific notation and also appreciating how many science problems and quick estimations really don't need more than 3 significant figures. Ok, that excludes all of finance! It also provided an easy transition to RPN calculators, which have many advantages if one is willing to meet the computer halfway and put all the operands before the operators.
Psalm 51:6 King James Bible Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. U are a super hero! 🦸🏾 Praise the LORD JESUS 🫵🏾🏆🔐🏆❤️🏆🏆🏆😢🌟⭐️
I have disc degeneration in my neck and lower back and have a Service Dog that was trained to assist me with forward momentum using a side bracket attached to the wheel hub on the wheel. I don't have the use of my neighbor's recumbent bike since I moved out of state. I know one day the frayed nerve cord down my legs will sever completely and I'll be needing a wheelchair since I'll be completely paralyzed. I don't have strong upper body strength especially when the nerves in my neck are being pinched on vertebrae grinding bone on bone and my fingers, hands sometimes have pain/numbness when I tried moving a wheelchair when I went to hospital for PT. One of my therapists of bringing my Mobility Service Dog to train more in assisting me when I am paralyzed and full time in a wheelchair. I'm not yet needing a wheelchair to move about the small apt. I live in, but have been unable to go for the walks 2 X's a day or do anything outdoors for a long time. The arthritis in my back, neck and legs has been bad this last winter. But when I saw your video on the mountain bike of wheelchairs, I was excited and wanting to regain independence and freedom to be outdoors again. I wouldn't be able to afford to buy one of your wheelchairs, but could you help me be able to modify a medical wheelchair I can apply for through my medical insurance? I've looked at the Sacco quad carts, but it wouldn't fit inside or easily go through the doorway...and of course I can't afford 5-6 thousand dollars. The neighbor came up with the idea of me getting tubing from Home Depot and making it into a bracket to bolt to his recumbent bike, he also modified it with a battery to assist even him up hills (he had bad knees) so when needed I could help my Service Dog when going up hills or steep driveways etc. I would deeply appreciate any help and info. on how I can modify me a wheelchair to be able to gain access to being outdoors again. Especially after nearly 2 yrs. of Covid lockdown.
Deaf pilots do have some limitations on their licenses. Their licenses are not valid for radio, meaning they cannot land at a towered airport except in emergencies. According to Sheila, "each tower has their own procedure, and so, it's important for us to reach out ahead of time and clear up that communication before we land, which is different than people who can fly whenever they need to."
Inspirational. I have a paralyzed left hand & was wondering id I'd be able to fly. With one broken wing, It seems hopeless. But technology seems better. Worried about needing to adjust trim while handling the yoke.
