Hello from the Czech Republic. Great job. High carbon steel is great and can be pretty scary sharp. Just one question: how long was the handle in the oil? Thanks for your answer. Many greetings to Japan. 💙
PRO TIP FOR THOSE WATCHING IN 2020. The pivot pin on the opinel will no longer drive through. This was the case with my newly purchases No. 9, and i've seen a few forum posts about it. If you go to drive out your pin and it doesn't come out in 1-2 strikes STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING. In order to dissasemble the knife further I had to file off the head of the larger side of the pin and then drive from that side. The knife will still come apart and go back together fine after that, you'll just have to push the pin from the opposite side.
