In December2019 we set up in the giant concert hall of RTSH studios & over 3 days recorded "Tirana 100" album with all musicians facing each other, entirely live without overdubs. The newly formed ensemble, was named “Tirana-Tirona AllStars”.The musicians chosen for this AllStars ensemble include legendary masters with half-century careers like the clarinetists Hekuran Xhambali & Ismail Kavaja (Moli I Ganiut) , accordionist Rafail Caka & singers Rik Buneci & Xhemal Kodra (Moli), talented performers of the Albanian National Ensemble like singer Iris Bega, lute player Adriatik Çelmeta & Neki Kastrati on frame drum, & also multi-talented instrumentalists & vocalists like Pëllumb Meta, lutenist Artur Yzeiri & Gentian Muhaxhiri on acoustic double bass. It introduces new talents too, future stars of Albanian music like Eraldo Feto on violin & Dritan Hekurani on acoustic double bass. Last but not least in the Tirana-Tirona AllStar constellation are the brothers Arben and Ilir Tafaj, who are successful businessmen by profession but also passionate singers of Tirona music. Tirana 100 by Tirana-Tirona Allstars was produced by Edit Pula(j) ( Albanian artist, curator, music producer), Lucy Durán (UK-based professor, radio presenter and award-winning music producer), BBC sound recordist Martin Appleby & The Muncipality of Tirana to mark Tirana’s centenary as capital city - a sonic postcard of a 100-year old capital Tirana, as souvenir for its citizens, nation and the world.
