It’s me! Melissa the Groomer. I started on TikTok but with the threat of a ban I started to make RU-vid videos. Just me, grooming dogs and sharing my knowledge. Please ask me questions!
I do have an Amazon storefront for products I recommend.
Great videos but please for the love of god when you’re imitating the dogs voice STOP WITH THE LISP!!!! It’s extremely annoying. Other than that I love the videos!!!!
Melissa, I found u through Rocky Kanaka'm, so grateful as I start training as a Groomer this October. They are charging me £2000 4 the course, so I thought I should study your videos & follow your guidance so I pass & get my certificate. Any more guidance u could give me on my journey would be deeply appreciated. Yours in gratitude
Hi! Congrats on your journey! I don’t know their links off hand but some great tutorial videos can be found by JessRona, groom haus and Jay Skraggs! Best of luck to you:)
I don’t remember off-hand but at Petco we would say 2-3 hours just because we have a lot of interruptions. But I still groom him in my mobile unit and he takes me about 2 hours start to finish :)
What if she's been shaved. Hair won't grow back. But mom specifically wants it shaved with a 7 blade ???? Yes it's not right. But most owners arent..😮 People should get extensive backround checks before having kids or trendy pets with delicate coats😢
We started just clipping her short after the mishap w the previous groomer. I still groom her in my mobile unit. She ended up having some random health issues that definitely contributed to the hair not growing back. As for background checks on future pet owners- maybe a required training course would be beneficial. 🤔
I was working at Petco at the time. People who come to Petco are there for their PETS. I am not nor have I claimed to be a show dog groomer. A lesson in thinking before you say unkind things would benefit you greatly in life.
Sorry but even Pet owners of Golden's want them to look like Golden's not Labs. If you can't take constructive criticism then stay away from posting RU-vid.
You're alot like me I groom! I groom based on how the dog acts unless of course I'm grooming the belly and that's when they always wanna lay down haha if they wanna lay down and I can still do what I need to do then fine but some groomers I've worked for has this seniority complex and feels they have to be dominant over the dog and therefor the dog has to obey everything! Most owners aren't like that do that's something the dog isn't use to and it becomes scared then it's scared of everyone grooming it
I had a yellow lab that loved getting blow dried after a bath. He also loved it when my mom would use the vacuum hose on him.. He thought it was a massage, but she used it to get the shed fur before they would fall on the floor lol
Glad i saw this! Last night i brushed my puppy’s coat all night! He even fell asleep 🥰🥰🥹☺️. I was thinking about how his ends looked sparse and was telling him after brushing his coat out we might consider some oils before we try a trim of .5 an inch.
hi We are interested in partnering with you to promote our Defineless Nasal Cleaner Pro.We believe that your followers would find it useful and would appreciate your honest and authentic feedback on our product.
Unfortunately at the big box stores we have to do what the client tells us to do - we always try to talk them out of it though. Sometimes they listen. His hair is actually finally growing back in again all these years later. 💜
@@melissathegroomer well you should really warn them against it. dogs with double coats should never be shaved like that. they can’t regulate their body temperature properly and it makes them much more susceptible to mosquito bites.
Daily if you can. But I always say at least 10-15 min a week between professional baths is better than nothing. And your deshed bath will be much better! Huskies get “over” brushing pretty quickly. Some can only withstand 15-20 min in a session.
Gorgeous pup and handled beautifully for his first groom, but I have always been told to never clip a cocker, only to use a stripping knife to card the ciat, as clipping changes the coat and their ability to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. No offence meant atall ! coat and
No offense taken. Yeah, carding is recommended. Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to do that at PetSmart and Petco. So, if they want their dog carded they have to find someone outside of a corporate store. A lot of people who have cockers that card them know how to do it themselves.
