Wow, never knew the Tank had this granular a history. Lots of detail. Flankers all along. I got interested in the tank because Cary Grant wore one in my favorite Hitchcock movie, North by Northwest, from 1959. His suit too. That suit he wore in that movie was named "the greatest suit of the 20th century". The Cartier Tank is a fitting accessory to that suit. Great job on this definitive guide.
Not sure how I feel about it, but that might be a good thing when it comes to this watch? Either way, never seen it before and this was great content, as always. 👍🏽
So classy … I live my life like this . Not to his level but i love the fact that he’s into the preservation of the old world .. love it . Make me want to tuck my shirt in as I watch this video having coffee !😂 stay blessed everyone.
awesome interview reminds me how we need to be ourselves also enjoyed your suit and your pinky ring and the story about your mother. I'm going to nick name you orange hands :) live long and prosper my brother
There is now a new Américaine, which fixes quite a few of the problems of the old one. - Française - the s is not silent as it's the female form. Français would be male, that's where the s is silent. Cheers
Love his Collections and the love he has for his watches. You don't need to have overhyped watches like APs, Pateks, RM and never available Rolexes. There are other lovely watch brands.
100% Box and Papers mean a ton. The main reason behind that is when you are selling a watch it is the first question from buyers / resellers like Analogshift, Crown&Caliber, European Watch Company and the list goes on. If I was never planning on trading up or sideways for a new time piece I would toss them but even John Mayer says not to throw them out.
If someone can afford several Pateks, then they usually don’t have a space issue for storing the boxes. Omega boxes are probably best in class in the price category. They are made to last. Sustainability is another angle of course. Breitling used to give a leather travel case inside a cardboard box. That was a great approach, but now they’ve gone too far with the recycled bottle flat pack box. It does not feel premium at all and I wouldn’t want to get that when spending £7k on a watch. Other brands have boxes for presentation only, ie they will fall apart if you touch them too often.
love the video, but you seriously need more watch images, maybe a layout of each of your choices would have looked great. I don´t want to be rude but I love this format and love the conversation way way better than some of your competitors on the watch world.
Don't wear a dive watch with a suit? It's okay if you're wearing a dive green suit... Nah, seriously, it's fine. He knows what he's doing. The whole if you know the rules, then you can break them and still create an aesthetic that works
Either he comes from a wealthy family or properly invested in something. Because to be a NYC school teacher and have this type of watch collection on a teachers salary. Let's not even mention the McIntosh receivers and etc he has in that nice BK apt.
DeCarlos is a true bespoke gentleman. I really enjoyed this interview and hearing about his passion. His watches, not to mention his beautiful green suit, are a breath of fresh air and style.
He looks likes wearing a can of sprite as a suit. Also, he’s wearing a pinky ring and a dive watch while wearing a suit. Other than wearing clothing that fits, he has no idea what he’s doing as a “stylish Man”
