Hi Everyone, This channel is all about some of the adventures I have been on. I would love to share with you the amazing things I have seen and the places I have gone. I believe God has created this big and beautiful world with so much to see and do. Come join me as we explore this world and see where it takes us.
Wandf was not comfortable and had no sternum strap. Probably won’t use it again unless I have no other option. Just got an Osprey Daylite 26+6 bag as a new personal item backpack.
I’ve been packing this way for a while now, but have always found it difficult to explain how I can live indefinitely (last trip was 77 days) with a small amount of clothing. This is a fantastic way to really break it down in an easy way for people to grasp the concept. Great video!
This is great advice. I have been watching many of these videos as I prepare for traveling. Yours is the one that makes the most sense! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the great information! If possible, can you tell me the external size of the Wandf and Under Seat Pro? I need to pack a box measuring 30x30x8 cm, and I'm unsure if it will fit.
Try laundry detergent sheets instead of pods for one less liquid. Plus they take up basically no space. Going liquid free is my next personal item travel holy grail. I will need to get less picky about my face products.
@@JillyBeans808they are great. I know I like washing items every other day, so I cut the sheets into quarters. Pop them in a snack size zip lock (I like the square format but the rectangle works), and it’s laundry sorted. I get unscented and drop some essential oil on them, occasionally.
@mechanicalmaniacal, I’m also working on as few liquids as possible. I carry solid shampoo & conditioner (ethique was on sale and I’m pretty impressed with in home testing), soap (I pick one that works for face and body), sometimes deo (they tend to crumble, so paste is my preference, sadly a TSA liquid), sunscreen stick, lip balm. My liquids are an oil for face and hair, a moisturizer that works am/pm, mouthwash concentrate in a dropper bottle, and a scented oil as cologne. I bounce between tooth paste, powder and tablets as I’m struggling to find a great tooth tablet.
I just love the simplicity of this "54321 Method" ... This system really makes sense. Mix and matching Tops and Bottoms would allow 12-24 unique combinations...not including the clothes that we are wearing on our person. I also appreciated your comment about not looking sloppy. There really is no reason to not look put together.
who knew that spirit would have more generous messaurments then the LCC's in europe ! =) So headsup, theese bags are bigger then allowed on almost all europeaan airlines. And also , have you taken the weight restriction in considoration ?
I liked this video - straightforward, simple packing for an adult trip, rather than a lot of just-in-case items and backpacker anxiety. Not many „real“ minimalist packing videos out there, this is one of them. Well done!!
It's all good unless you're 6'5" and wear size 13 shoes. I do have a couple of tips. Silk underwear. I vacuum pack them. Awesome. Public Rec or 32 degree pants. Saves about 3-4 lbs per pair vs jeans. I fly the airline I have a couple of million miles on. I carry on 2 bags and my million miler tags get me off the hook.
I endorse what you said about spending a lot of money on items to save space. I don't under stand the theory of spending $400 on luggage, another $500 on merino wool under shirts, to save $65 and not check a bag.
Spend money on good luggage. Cheap luggage is exactly that. I have lots of $$ in luggage. Different bags for different trips. Remember...it's going to be next to you. Multi million mile flyer.
I just restored my 1973 Typhoon. It was lot of work - but it was worth it. I get a lot of compliments at the marina and on the water. Good luck with yours.
Your idea of bringing old socks and underwear and disposing of them before traveling home blew my mind! That's a fantastic idea! It frees up space for souvenirs or new socks and underwear, LOL! Why didn't you use the backpack's compression straps? They really help maintain the shape of the backpack and keep the contents snugly tight
I love the simplicity of the Underseat Pro, it fits an incredible amount of stuff. However, I like the looks of the Wandf. Still, those wide external pockets can be an invitation to overpacking, potentially causing the backpack not to fit inside the airport sizers. Thank you for demonstrating how both of them fit inside the Spirit sizer! You just earned a new subscriber
Why didn't you use the compression straps of the UNDERSEAT PRO? You could have packed much more by using packing cubes and employing the compression straps to compress the contents of the backpack. I love my UNDERSEAT PRO; I can easily pack for a couple of weeks in it, especially when traveling to a tropical destination! Thank you for the video comparison
Thank you. yes, we didn't use the straps just because of the length of the video. Yes, we do sometimes use packing cubes especially if we are going to be living out of our bag for the trip. Jill likes packing cubes a lot. Thanks
Maybe they just don‘t need more?! I pack 3 tops, 2 bottoms (=6 outfits), a dress as a 7th, a warm layer, jacket & nightwear - a week‘s worth, then I wash stuff. If it‘s cooler I will adapt (as Tim described in his other video) e.g. add tights or leggings to layer and adjust how cool/warm the fabrics are. I use a smaller bag than these, though of course it‘s not a competition, I just don‘t need more.
Mahalo! Maile wants to be a u tuber. These are some great examples of things that are useful that I will also be benefiting from when we go on our trip in June.
How would this work for summer winter please as asthmatic need extra warmth and many meds. Is this your whole luggage if so what is weight packed please?
