I have both the DSO 152 and also the 153. I've been using the 153 more because I got that later and it has the signal generator. But I noticed I have a question first I noticed that there's an update firmware for the 153 to make it a version 1.6 but it says it requires Windows 10 to install it. Is the update required? Because at this point I don't have a Windows 10 computer accessible. I just have Android cell phone and tablets and a Windows 7 computer.

Here's a tip. Don't run a huge blob of solder on the tip of the iron. Apply the solder straight to the point of contact between the iron and the thing you're soldering, that way you get the benefit of the flux actually cleaning the mating surfaces instead of being burned off on the tip and leaving an oxidized connection that will take longer to heat.
If you use your scope like this and touch the bare metal piece of the connector(the side of the scope) you can get a shock from the mains. Guess how i know.
I also have a 1013d, which was a big disappointment, now it can be used with the custom firmware. The 2C53P is a huge disappointment for me, there are a lot of bugs that make it unusable. good for watching kHz repeating wave, but a sound card oscilloscope is also more than enough for that. All three parts of the 2C53P disappointed me. DPOX180H is the only one I can use with peace of mind, of course within the limits I have experienced.
@@juhaszpeter4796 Agradezco mucho tu comentario, me hubiese encantado saberlo poco después de haber escrito, anoche se me ocurrió comprarlo, me gustaría saber más que fallas presenta exactamente el 2C53P?
@@brandonvega9695 OK, I'll try to get it together a couple of things that come to mind. 1. CH1 measurements are incorrect. 1.1: the frequency needs more periods to measure. 1Vpp 2MHz square signal. With a 200ns time base, 3 full periods are visible, but Fnirsi says that frequency=67.1MHz, the voltage is 1.95Vpp due to the overshoots, but measured with a cursor it is 460mV. Measured with my HDS272S with the same settings, 2MHz and 1.016Vpp atom stably. much smaller overshoot, more stable readable measurement. Owon can measure the frequency from 1 period. 1.2: Examining the same square signal on the scope, I change the time base from 200ns to 80ns, this is the next, there is no other between the two. Then the square sign does not fit in the display. It still says 67.1 MHz for the frequency, but 3.90Vpp for the voltage. 3.31Vpp measured with a cursor The next time base is 40ns. In that case, the frequency is 0Hz, because not a single period can fit in the display. It measures the voltage as 1.70Vpp. With cursor 1.16Vpp. 1.3: If I leave the scope setting, I do not set anything, the time base is 40ns and the channel is 500mV/div, and I increase the frequency on my signal generator, Measure at 2.4MHz: frequency 0Hz, it's fine, voltage 1.7Vpp, with cursor 1.16Vpp Measure at 2.5Mhz: frequency 0Hz, voltage 3.70Vpp, with cursor 3.31Vpp. CH2 doesn't do these things, it's in pretty much usable condition. 2. trigger fault. 2.1 Single trigger does not work for 1uS and faster, i.e. ns time base. 2.2 It cannot trigger a 1Khz square signal with a 5us setting and a faster time base. At the 10us setting, you will get maybe 3 signals per second. but it is not symmetrical, that is, it is not the case that the wave on the display changes every 1/3 second. He can't do it at 20 us. It works fine at 50us. 3. the horizontal zoom does not work. In other words, if you stop the recording, you cannot zoom in. The scope setting is 1ms time base and the signal generator is 100kHz square, 1vpp. On the display, you can see a 540mV horizontal continuous strip, but not the negative part. if I stop it and start zooming in, the entire signal can be seen at 200ms, with a negative part of 1.09Vpp, but the frequency is 0. measured with a cursor, it is 22kHz, i.e. aliasing. Between 20us and 200ns there is no change in the signal on the display. At 80ns, the square signal widens, but I measure 16MHz with the cursor. The automatic measurement cannot measure the frequency yet. At 10nS, I measure 15.6MHz with the cursor. Playing the same with the Owon HD272S, I can go down to 1us, and the signal looks like a human tooth. but the frequency is stable at 100.0kHz throughout. This is due to less memory. in addition, in Fnirsin the signal resembles the real signal at 50ms/div, at faster time bases the width of the signal is garbage. The frequency of the signal must closely match the time base set on the scope, otherwise you will not be able to zoom in, the wave will turn into garbage. This cannot be used properly for non-periodically repeating signals. You can see some miracles in Kerry Wong's video, it's worth watching. The name of the video: It Might Have Just Set a New Record! Review/Teardown of a FNIRSI 2C53P 3-in-1 OSC/DMM/Function Gen
@@brandonvega9695 It is possible that most of the bugs will be fixed, but in its current state, I do not recommend anyone to buy it. If it's just a software problem and it can be solved with updates, then OK. But if it's a hardware problem and CH1 doesn't work properly for me because of that, then it's all just a waste of money. The hardware error was not fixed for the DPOX180H either. Yes, the 20MHz bandwidth limit does not work in the 2C53P either.
Also, fix the mis-spelled word on the product. It's Function not Funcation. The box has the same error. This is a serious quality of service. I returned mine to Amazon.
This is a very convincing device at a great price point. But you should REALLY switch to using hotswappable 18650 batteries. Many of us CAN NOT afford any downtime while we wait for recharging. So the only solution is if it's powered by instantly replaceable 18650s..
