Thanks for sharing this. She's Got It was released in 1956 by Little Richard. Written by John Marascalco and Little Richard. "Her ruby lips, shapely hips, When she walk down the street, all the cats flip". This was a line from Little Richards song. In 1957, Mean Woman Blues was released by Elvis Presley. It was written by Claude Demetrius. Elvis did not use that line. Then in 1964, Roy Orbison released his version of Mean Woman Blues using the line: "She gotta ruby lips, she got shapely hips, yeah, Boy she makes ole Roy-y flip." I just recorded this song this week and I borrowed what I thought was Roy's line but in reality it was a little Richard line. "She's got ruby lips, she's got shapely hips, when she walks, she really makes me flip." I used Roy's verse but tweaked it not even knowing Little Richard was the original creator. Thanks again and have a wonderful day.
Thanks Joshua. Hank has a special place in my heart for music. He was the real deal. There was nothing fake about him. I can totally relate to him. When I get to Heaven I will get to meet him in person. Until then, I can feel his presence by listening to his songs.
I often wonder how many more great gospel songs Hank could have written & recorded, if he had only lived a few more years? Hank wrote over a 100 songs ; many of them were gospel songs; unfortunately, he lived in pain with his back condition & passed away @ the age of 29 on 1-1-53. God bless Hank Williams sr. & a.k.a. Luke the drifter!
Hank was one of a kind. Based on his belief in Jesus Christ, I believe that when he died, he went to Heaven. Even though he struggled with addictions, he still believed in Jesus Christ. The songs he wrote were from his heart. He sang from his heart unlike so many other singers out there today. There will never be another Hank Williams.
I actually knew this song when I was a little kid but didn't remember who sang it. Think my grandmother sang it. I'm 55yrs old and well these old time tunes were played by family
Timeless and priceless memories and moments of this singer. All his are songs are heavenly, Gone too soon but his Musical Talents and passion still with us WARMEST Greetings for sharing your Musical clips with us SOPH
I tend to think that hank ,sr was a better song writer but hank ,jr is a better a preformer and this hank,3 is really good singer and looks alot like hank,sr.
My fellow human beings, I love Jesus Chrisf. He is the complete 'man' , a total warrior yet the most tender and compassionate person ever towards children, as wise or wiser than the wisest Greek philosopher, *A DOCTOR!,* literally speaks Words of Life ... I urge you to read Matthew , Mark, Luke and John and read his very words for yourself. Look at the instructions he gives people. Very wise instructions. I believe he has healed me a number of times. I almost died in prison this past December and I am now teaching martial arts. I give Jesus credit for helping me to heal. If you make it through those first four Books of the New Testament, the Book of Proverbs is highly recommended also. Best Wishes, Adieu! (To God!)
I did some research on this song before recording it. I believe that Pete actually wrote this song about his childhood. This is only speculation based on comments Pete has made in interviews. Anyway, I didn't like some of the original lyrics in this song so I deleted them and made some tweaks here and there and added some lyrics to match the theme of the song. Please pray for anyone who is suffering from a mental disorder like Transgenderism. Thanks.
Sim. Eu não estava vivo quando ele morreu em 1959, mas sua música viverá para sempre. De acordo com pessoas que viveram na década de 1950 na América, o mundo era um lugar melhor naquela época.
