My Kuzushi suck so I always have to do some ashiwaza move first. Very rarely do I get the kuzushi done in 1 take

I tend to stand with my lead side grabbing my opponent´s lapel but I assume we do this when stance is a little bit to the side ? Thanks for sharing.

Nice. Judo is specialized combat sport. It’s a complete Art in itself. I learned about Judo through jiu jitsu Professors whom also are Judo Black Belts. I love Judo.

You are mistaken he has a red and white belt (coral belt), which is given when you reach 6th degree black, and you have it until 8th degree. 9th degree is solid red. It doesn't have to be worn all the time you can also put on your black belt, but most wear it during ceremony

They're trained to fall a certain way to minimize fall damage, which includes that slap

And don’t forget to rotate the opponent. It’s not an overhead-style throw like seoi-nage, but rather a rotation along the vertical axis. Pull hard to rotate and use the sweeping leg as a counter weight.
