Most of them aren't dead. The armor isn't even getting scuffed from the blaster bolts. Canonically that means the trooper is alive, as the armor dispersed the energy across their entire body. It has the effect of a very heavy stun--couple days recovery they'll be fine.
I don't see any purpouse for stormtroopers anymore in disney movies. They are potrayed as funny dumb noobs with no threath to main chatacters or anyone around
I get storm troopers are just a basic henchman enemy but it’s just so lame how main characters mow through them without even thinking about it. It’s just kinda silly at this point

Keep in mind these are stormtroopers after the fall of the empire so their morale and competence mightve been low. But again stormtroopers always were ass at aiming.

An extremely conservative estimate would be 225 on-screen stormtrooper kills. That's not including those carrier ships exploding in the distance or imperial officers.
Dune is now bigger than Star Wars as a SCI FI property because of garbage like this. If you make your characters and villains into a bunch of clowns, not even children will be interested.

I don’t understand why they decided to make Stormtroopers suck. They are extremely deadly and highly trained, but ever since A New Hope, where they missed DELIBERATELY, they all suck.
I’m honestly tired of stormtroopers being depicted as incompetent cannon fodder. Nowadays, they always seem to go down without any effort from the protagonists and there’s never a shred of tension when they’re on-screen. I wish they would be shown as an effective military force more often than not.
I read somewhere that most stormtroopers don't actually die when hit, because the Armour is designed to disperse the energy across their entire body knocking them out cold or stunning them hence why they scream, while clone armor is designed to keep them in the fight, but shots are more lethal to them. it was probably retconned tho.
