Hey if you love traffic and congestion, York is for you. I attempted to get into the York Fair last year, spent 3 hours in traffic, they closed the parking lot to the fair while I was in traffic. I won't be back. York/Lancaster traffic is awful. The bypass has turned into a joke. Visit first before you make any decision.
Does York have public transit and is it reliable enough to get around? Non-driver here planning to move to York to be closer to family. I think we are moving to Red Lion area.
Yes, York County has public transportation. The name is Rabbit Transit. Here is the link to their map & schedule page: www.rabbittransit.org/routes/route-10s/ . If you have any other questions or would more information on purchasing or selling a home, feel free to reach out. Thank you for watching.
Most people don't know this but Andrew Stevens who was the father of Alexander H Stevens...the Vice-President of the Condederacy...was born in Duncannon. Also, Chuck Rhoads the "famous" TV weatherman lives in Duncannon.
@rday710 I did not know about Andrew Stephens, that's very interesting. I do know about Chuck, though. My grandfather was a general contractor and did work on his home, I also went to school with his daughters. Thank you for watching our channel!
❤HOME❤ Another cool history fact is we were home to silent film star Marie Doro. She's buried in Duncannon cemetery with her family. (Marie Katherine Stewart)
got me soo lost this isn’t camphill for the first home it might be on the map but it’s the borough and that’s what people want when they think the town
@Angie-ew5im Not really too big, just had a 20 year old A/C unit. It was replaced a couple of months ago, though. Back down to reasonable electric bills. 🙂 I believe my June electric bill was $270, and it was a very hot month. Thank you for watching!
Nice video, but it is worth mentioning some big issues: 1. limited healthcare. Unless you're going to Hershey, the healthcare in the area is abysmal...even for vet services of your pet 2. shortage of contractors. Good luck finding competitive contractors to do any sort of work on your property. A $6,000 guest bathroom renovation in florida is the equivalent of a $12,000 renovation in the harrisburg metro, at 2-3x the lead time. 3. Political pressure. Unless you're living in the city, the area is very conservative and certain ethnicities may feel uncomfortable
How can you have multiple neighborhoods it’s a single town you either live in camp hill or camp hill I get it’s bigger on maps but really it’s just one small town anything outside of where you were originally isn’t really camphill that’s a whole other town
Thank you for your comment. Our goal in this video was to show neighborhoods in the greater Camp Hill area and the different townships in 17011, not just the Boro. Thank you for watching!
I am looking to retire in Camp Hill from NY. I am a single woman and I am wondering what a nice place would be if I am renting. I am looking for a small place around 700-900 sft. Low crime. Walkable would be nice but not necessary. Any thoughts? Thank you!
Hi! I've been watching the market out there while trying to decide which neighborhood to buy into. Can you tell me if Green Lane Farms has access to natural gas? All the properties I've seen are either oil or electric heat.
Thanks for watching. I do not believe Green Lane Farms has natural gas available. I went back on sales over the past year, and I see either heat pump with electric backup or oil. I can confirm with the gas providers tomorrow, though. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or help. Thank you!
Hello, I am also curious about Porches At Allenberry ( I had previously commented, but it does not appear to be showing). I'll pare this comment down to basics.... P.O.A. seems an absolutely gorgeous community built into a charming existing resort with all kinds of amenities, playhouse, restaurants, historical structures, etc. (world class fly fishing to boot). There are three elements if you might comment on, however. * A.* Build quality of units seems low in comparison to asking prices, facades of homes look great, but they are slab constructed homes from what I see (correct me if I'm wrong). *B.* Homes don't seem to have much property, very close to neighboring homes. *C*. Price Point: There seems to be a good inventory of homes within a 2 to 5 mile radius priced anywhere from the mid to high 100's to around 300K, which would mean you could purchase 2 to 4 homes that would equate to the same price as the range of 500K to slightly over a million at P.O.A. for one home. Any input would be appreciated as there are apparently no reviews besides the additional comment on this video I can find online.
Hi Guys, first off thanks for the extensive and informative video. I too am baffled by the Porches At Allenberry. A charming setup with many amenities for sure, but good lord the asking prices...🤔 From what I see, unless I am mistaken construction is frame on concrete slab (correct?), which if the case would be as basic as it gets IMO. It seems they put alot of attention to the exterior and facade, but how good are the "bones" and build quality of the houses in general? Hardly any property, shoulder to shoulder with neighbors. Literally across the street (Boiling Springs Road) if you search Zillow "sold" homes, you will find two nice homes on nice sized property recently closed within a year or so for 260,000 and 275,000 respectively, and one closed less than two years ago for 252,000 where you can see the Porches directly across the street out of the living room window. Now I know the market has gone up and P.O.A. is new construction (as apparently base as that may be), but seriously, you could have bought ALL THREE of these homes for 757,000. P.O.A. is priced as you say from the mid 500's to over a million. If you could comment on this that would be appreciated. Thank You
Porches of Allenberry?… no no no… my husband and I looked in that community about two or three years ago. The model home was put together like crap. It was not complete and if they were comfortable with showing their model homes, not being complete, I wasn’t confident they were going to build our home.. I knew a couple of people that moved in there and said they had problems with the home being built and completed when they said it would be done. Last I checked, they didn’t even have the clubhouse bult and almost every single home and there was already built. You should’ve looked into Amblebrook in Gettysburg.
Pretty solid places. I grew up in Southern York County (Stewartstown/Crossroads area). With all the growth the county is seeing, I still like Fawn Grove, Delta and New Park the most because it’s not over developed and the lots are so much bigger while being close to Bel Air/Baltimore and York. Great work.
When it comes to weather, there is a piece of information about the northwestern region that was missed and should be kept in mind. During the winter, northwestern PA can get some additional snowfall on top of the forecasted snowfall. The extra snow is the result of Lake Erie known as "Lake Effect" snow. Everyone that lives near a great lake knows this common weather phenomenon. You'll also hear people talk about the "Snow Belt" which is an area where the lake effect snow hits the hardest. Which starts between the top 2 counties of the state and mostly follow the jet stream till you reach the range where Lake Erie effects. I can argue that it's probably the same with rain too but that's harder to observe.

For allergies, try taking local honey daily. A spoonful a day year-round develops your tolerance. Been doing this for years, and only get sniffly on those really bad days when you can see the pollen in the air.
