This interview is fascinating in 2023 since Tony has really no idea how Talviyö will perform in the coming days, but is still adamant about the direction of the band. I myself truly adore Talviyö for its somber tone and the most melancholic themes in the history of the band, but I can't help but feel the listening experience lacking in some ways. Maybe it is the less than ideal guitar tones and lackluster percussions but anyway the band had so much more to give. I really am hyped for the 11th album since First in Line is such a banger single. Wish you all the best! Kokkola kuittaa.
Excellent interview, and such thoughtful answers! Easy to see why Arch Enemy band members seem like such decent, kind people and consistently excellent performers and musicians.
A fantastical mind who has nothing pretentious in him. It must be nice for Tuomas to get great questions and at the same time it must be nice for the interviewer to talk to a real person and not some cocky rockstar.
Ron Yantz 1 second ago The band had lots of offers for tours and shows. They had headlining tour booked in USA she informed the band that she couldn't tour with them for yr to 6 months per her doctors ! The band hired a temp singer to do the tours and the shows booked while she dealt with her health issue. She freaked out that they would hire a temp singer to keep touring. Now mind you the members of the band aren't rich and it was keep touring to make a living or back to there 9to 5 jobs. She did a low ass over dramatic hit job on them in social media which was very low class and quit the band. Effectively destroying the band and fan base. Now let me just say im still huge fan of Dianne and love her voice. She should of resigned in a graceful way and a professional way but no she caused a huge shit show and destroyed the band.

Pretty good interview. I would prefer giving more time for the guest - in some occasions Tuomas was obviously still thinking how to continue and the interviewer wanted to skip to next question already. Good questions, though.
Thank you for the interview & Thank you Richie for everything. your Fans hold you to a very high degree of respect and admiration as an Artist, it is a privilege to be able to listen to a long career worth of albums that always have a very genuine quality and a soul to them from start to current, A raw well crafted quality from all perspectives, from song structure, message, lyrics, all the instruments, the whole package per song & continuing to grow. Thank you & your family for your life & career. Also Never Stop. Even if "the world is spinning into free fall" (Make It Easy)(Salting Earth).
Very nice. I'm curious about the new record, it's gonna be hard to top "The Holographic Principle" because that was their best album so far in my opinion.
Here's some questions for you: What's it like to play in a castrated metal band? And how often are you allowed to speak? Does she carry your balls in her purse so when you start to get out of line she shows them to you.
You know what, I've kicked my demons out, a long time ago, but it's hard to kick out a person from your life, even though you know it's not good. It's more than toxic. It is really dark..
Interesting he mentioned Elvenpath as somewhat distant to his current taste. I've been a fan since 2004 and Elvenpath is one of the songs thats stuck with me, it just finds its way into my mind at the most random times.
