Hey man its Ian from Pro-Spin Metal Spinning in Montreal! We met last summer at Crown when I was looking at the machinery. I'd love to touch base and ask you a few questions. What is the best way to get in touch?
Love the channel! My father owned a spinning business for 20+ years and its such rare thing and hard to explain to friends and coworkers! I always just show em your vids! This piece would be a goblet or something?
@@digbickmetalspinning9700 Silver and copper respond the same to aluminum, soft and non-tearing, but brass is much harder and needs fire. especially in deep products. I don't know English, google translate allowed that much, I hope I could explain.
Hey what's good glad your keeping up the good work I had to give it up myself I tried it for 2 weeks it just wasnt for me plus the management was a dick I was working on machines that had to many technical issues so you spent half a day rectifying faults so got back in to the CNC milling side again...I suppose I gave it a try rite lol
@EBK Toonz. It doesn't help when you don't have the support you need. Sorry. Rite, you did give it a shot. Maybe see if the spinners will show you a little hand spinning to try. Something easy
@@digbickmetalspinning9700 Hi ebk toonz. Contakt Terry tyrane. Hi can help you. Bak in the days spinners would stop the work if strangers com in to the chop . ("black Magic") . I my selfe new spinner ordered som zink fore spinnig. Wm Zink sad no an sentd their catalog.
I don't see an option to DM you on RU-vid. What is the tool made of that you're using to form the aluminum? Im new to this but I've only seen tools made from hardened steel.
@Kyle Eldridge I have used different plastics. Nylon. They have different names depending on the manufacturer. I've also used forbin. ( Not sure of the spelling) Some chucks are made of this as well. It's reddish brown
Cheers pal iv worked in sheet metal for years but have never really done metal spining I'm starting off on one of the smaller machines to get me started..ate you from the UK if so what's usually the rate for this type of work iv negotiated a start rate but would like to ask what the pay is like once a spinner?
@@ebktoonz8436 I've been doing this for 40 years now and I still treat it like it's day one as far as safety goes. Remember, you are working with moving metal. It doesn't forgive
@jan espen Sandvik thank you. I appreciate that. No annealing necessary for that job. The copper is top quality. As long as you don't play around with it, no problem. 😁
@@HomeMoonshiners @American Copper Works. We might have a few kicking around. We have lots of chucks. The company I'm at is called Crown Cookware. It's closing. You could inquire about what tooling is available
