This video gives information that doesn't match the instructions that come with the shades, and it makes the installation sound much easier than it is. The instructions that come with the shade are hard to understand with bad illustrations.
The product is great. However, my instructions are in French, and they are for the blinds that require drilling in brackets. This video did help me figure out how to install the blinds, but it does not include instructions for affixing the tabs ("les poignées," en français) to move the blinds up and down. It so happens that I can read French, but I'd prefer instructions in English. The tabs for these blinds also differ from those in the instructions for the drilled-bracket blinds. C'est la vie, c'est la guerre...
How do I pull down the cordless shades? I have it installed and it's stuck at the top. There are no instructions for pulling the big wad of smoothed up shades apart and I don't want to break anything.... I should have bought curtains.
You need to make these in a corded lift version. Cordless blinds are garbage that tear up the inside of the window because it's impossible to lift them without rubbing the sides of the windows. They are also impossible to lift if your window is behind a desk. Cordless blinds are the dumbest trend I have ever seen.
I have these in my LR, they've been there a few years. No issues. They aren't kidding when they say the adhesive is super strong....I had cheap self stick blinds up and couldn't get off all the crap left behind, no problem they're still sticking. No one can believe they are self stick and they go up and down perfectly. Just ordered some for my son's room.
Ok, but what about the blinds that don't have a wand, but rather a control bar on the bottom bar? The written instructions give the proper bracket depth for the two wand styles, but not the third style. I have to say, it's not encouraging that Blindster isn't responding to people's problems and questions on this video.
@@MAGAMANhate to break it to you , but the instructions I received are unclear and don’t even show the type of brackets I received in the instructions. I DO know how to install shades btw. I came here to see if maybe I could get a better visual. Maybe I need to make a video. Unfortunately I’m still trying to figure out how to attach the tension brackets properly because the instructions don’t even mentioning anything about them.
the brackets are not intuitive and do not snap in easily. Not sure what the problem is. Now we have to take them down because we measured too short and re-install them and I'm afraid we will break them getting them out.
I would like to thank Blindster for informing me exactly what size drill bit to use, the location of the brackets, as well as using different brackets than what I received. I'm now ready to blindly install my shades.
They say you have 2 types in the box yet all we got was one type. They need a better video and instructions, it jumps from Spanish to English midway thru the page the goes right back to English midway thru another set of instructions.
@@garydouglasstewart8731 There are two different types available, depending on what kind of shades you get. You determine what type of bracket you get when you order your shades.
The drill bit information is in the installation instructions that come with your order. The brackets go on the end of the shades. You don't use different brackets than what you received, you use the brackets that shipped with the shades. If all this is too much for you, you should probably hire someone to install them for you.
While I have bought many products from Blindster and find them to be good quality, I would never install these stick on blinds. Much like the stick on backsplash tiles, the WILL fall off eventually.
Also, the brackets will never work the way they are designed. My handyman said to return the whole lot and that's what I am doing. Except they won't answer their phone. Don't use Blindster. You will be sorry. I bet this comment never makes it onto the screen. Ha.
@@seasonedsofisticate1901 I'm wondering the same, because I have a kitchen window that has a tile frame and I don't feel like drilling holes through tile to hang regular blinds and I ordered some today.
Received a new Blindster zebra shade yesterday. The hardware we received doesn't look anything like the hardware shown in this video. Very confusing and frustrating. 😢
"Mark where to drill" uh, okay--but where exactly is that? She didn't seem to use a measuring tape or leveler, you're really kind of glossing over the most important parts. Anyone can drill a hole.
I think they made the mistake of thinking the people buying these would have some amount of intelligence. Level would be used to make sure your brackets are parallel to each other when doing an outside mount. The tape measure is to make sure they are both "level" to each other and an equal distance from the window when installing outside the window. You are literally attaching two bits of metal to your wall/window to install the blinds on. It's not rocket science.
Further, your instructions here say to have a tape measure and level on hand... but then proceeds to NEVER ONCE USE THEM OR MENTION THEM AGIAN IN THE ENTIRE VIEDO. Your company went through all this trouble to produce nice video instructions, but they're either misleading or are leaving items or steps out.
Don't you think that what size of hole to pre-drill is pretty important? It's not mentioned here or in any of your PDF documentation on your website. Your installation instructions both here and in PDF form on your site leave much to be desired. I know people don't like to read, but little things like "what size mounting hole to drill" seems pretty curcial. Also, under faux wood blinds you list instruction by color (like COLOR has ANYTHING to do with installation)... and I have confirmed that those links lead to the identical PDF document. C'mon. You can do better than this.
