Tbh i was hoping if any sequel comes of Indiana Jones it would be with shea le beau ( excuse spelling ) to be the main character , and ford being second. And to have some good context and a good preferable story as I have waited for this long. But, covid and feminism have ruined the story and thefranchisee. I would really hope , you make fun of avenger and Marvel Studios, the Sumi after the Thano act, so that you may get some good views from the nerds and comic con
That's perfectly fine. Enjoy the show however you like. They confirm that the bones are Reddington in the show, but other than that, not seeing Redderina is perfectly fine. It probably leads to liking the show more.
So there was scientific advancement suitable for surgical transformation of a woamn to a man at the time Elizabeth/Marsha was little? Whatever decade that was?
It was the 1990s. I have no idea the state of the technology at that time. I was just analyzing the story. And the story has writers from the 2010s... who didn't seem to care much about plausibility.
Wbile the reds Katerina theory is a theory i dont buy in. I think if hes neither katerina the real Reddington or the friend. He could be an uncle. Either katerinas or reddingtons brother
It has been confirmed, and there is no uncle. Not only did they directly indicate there is no uncle, but the story is done you can't just insert random people that were never introduced to the story.
I absolutely loved this show. As far as his identity, Red was intimate with various women throughout the show, none of whom noticed or mentioned his lack of male genitalia. Then there are the burn scars across his back, shown on season 1. I believe Red is Red, not Katarina. He did not die on the night of the fire.
Phalloplasty. Why do people accept that plastic surgeons can make ears, noses, and several other parts of flash, but think a peepee is some magical lump of flesh unlike anything else.
There are two key points you‘re missing I guess: in the first or secound season there is this blacklister who can change your DNA or something like that. Red could have used the skills of this blacklister to alter his own DNA, or he could have used it to alter the DNA of the bones and the bones don‘t belong to reddington but to someone else, maybe katarina. The other point is this blacklister who can implant or extrach memories, so maybe liz never killed her father but she was let to belive it. Nevertheless it is clear that the showrunners didn‘t have a plan at the beginning. I think they even negated the redarina theory. As you showed in this video, in the first season red was trying to solve a secret, not trying to keep it, he was portraid as a man who was forced to become a criminal but never intended to be one, that changed drasticly where at the end he became a character who willingly choose to become a criminal. I really wonder how the story would have went if they kept it that way
You're right that I probably should have addressed this in the video: The DNA changer blacklister (The Alchemist) only changes the DNA of corpses. A live human body will naturally expel alien DNA over time... it's why blood transfusions don't change your DNA. Also, the Alchemist was a blacklister because he was aligned with Reddington's unknown enemy (I think he was actually working for the Cabal under Alan Fitch, but I could be remembering wrong). Either way, he was a part of the puzzle to identify Berlin. So, Reddington also didn't have access to him in order to engage his services even if they worked on live people, else he would have just threatened him to get the information he needed. And if the Alchemist had been an asset that Reddington used, he would have been left off the Blacklist until the final season when he was dismantling his own group.
This is why there should be a vague entire series plot before writing the first episode if possible. It will be in the mind of writers so they don't pigeonhole future season writers into limited undesirable outcomes.
They did this idea that they didn't is just people trying to justify the fact they didn't see the obvious clues. The idea that they didn't have a vague plan is predicated on the fact that they didn't reveal undeniable clues within the first two seasons of the show. That is ridiculous of course they didn't give any solid clues of the main mystery in the first two seasons of the show., that isn't proof that there was no plan it is proof that they expected to have to stretch the mystery out for years.
Just another reason why I absolutely will not watch The Show. I really did enjoy it for a while but I started noticing the little plot holes as you call them in the story pretty early actually. And then realized that this show was gonna do something stupid and oh wow would you look at that it did something stupid. Gender reassignment surgery somebody who wasn't teven listed in the navy on the TV show. This show started off awesome. Then just......flopped. Damn good first video btw.
I’ve watched all seasons of the blacklist and I never thought read was Katrina. I think they started off with the storyline and somehow the whole series never made any sense to me, but I did like RAYMOND Reddington
That's totally fine. Lots of people don't see it or actively ignore it, and I have no problem with that. Enjoy the series however you like. I kind of wish I could ignore it myself, since I think the story of the show is better if you don't see the clues.
Well, Red had at least 3 women/ lovers through the series. Are you telling me they never noticed the lack of penis of Red, or they never cared nor mentioned he had a pussy? "Raytarina" or "Katamond" it's bullshit. Two separate beings.
Phalloplasty. Why do people accept that plastic surgeons can make ears, noses, and several other parts of flesh, but think a peepee is some magical lump of flesh unlike anything else.
Excellent analysis of the series! I agree that regardless of what the directors were attempting to convey, there is not enough plausible evidence to support the theory that Raymond Reddington was Katarina. It’s one of those shows that ultimately leaves the audience wondering what really happened.
That was a red herring... a fake Katarina whose real name was Tatiana Petrova. She was used to get the Townsend Initiative to think Katarina was dead for several decades until Liz revealed herself to be Katarina's daughter.
I thought I missed episodes or I was just too dumb to figure out who Redington was and why Elizabeth never found out who he/she really is That’s annoying a bit of mystery here and there is fun but when the mystery is never solved extremely annoying Lazy writing audience you just finish the story by yourself
I don't think it matters who Red is after all of this time. We've had the chance to watch one of the greatest characters in the history of the TV shows. Never Failed to impress the audience or leave them captivated by an astonishing performance. Complicated relationships, true friendships, a dark world, deception and betrayal all depicted in a manner that sometimes felt Shakespearean. I've watched the show twice and never cared about his true ID, because it is a disservice to focus on that only and neglect that The Blacklist as a show is masterful. Personally, the show gave me all the answers I needed to know, and I enjoyed every minute. I watched over 200 shows and when someone asks, can you recommend a TV show, blacklist is the answer.
That is perfectly fine. I addressed the question in my video because the show asked it and never answered, because they killed Liz off and nobody else among the characters had a real reason to care. I've said it many times in the comments: I feel the exact same as you. The show is better when ignoring the identity question.
@Half-FaceCinephile I liked your theory, that they didn't have a clear plan for the character since the beginning and had to alter as the show progressed. But that character in the first two seasons, younger Spader, presumed to be after revenge, the stories, the humors, the mystery, never seen anything like that, I could watch all over again and not even blink. If you give it a thought, that storyline was better and more thrilling than the introduction of the character as an imposter, but at the same time, without the alteration, they would have had to finish the show in season 4. All in all, they did what they could to prolong the show, and I think they had the right to do that. They introduced so many great ideas and characters. The blacklist has the prospect of spin-offs more than any other show. Almost every blacklister deserves a separate movie.
Wow there's a lot I disagree with here, but I want to point out that the comparison between Helana and Beloq taking credit for other people's discoveries isn't nearly the gotcha you want it to be. Hero's are interesting when they have something to learn. If Helana starts the story obsessed with fame, that gives her room to grow. You seem like the kind of person who'd hate on Ray for being too perfect at the start of the story, and now that Disney gives you a better character, you still take issue with it.
Thank you for the comment. I agree with you that an initially negative character has room to grow, but Helena in particular never does. The movie tries to tell us in words that she's not as bad as displayed (like the quote: "Nobody memorizes their father's notebooks for the money"), but her actions never show that as the movie continues. She tries to kill her godfather several times during the film, but suddenly changes her mind to his value as soon as he's shot. And she never gives up her initial selfish goal. Even at the end, when the whole story is over, the Antikythera is sitting on top of a phonebook, because she's still looking to sell her father's life's work. I'm not sure Rey ever became a better character during the Star Wars trilogy either. I'd be interested to hear what you mean by that statement, actually. I mean, there's a chance that the new movie will buck the current Star Wars trend of ruining everything, but I have serious doubts. As to the Sequel Trilogy, I was way more invested in the Finn storyline, which they completely forgot about as the movies continued. Neither of those story arc failures bother me as much as how much they degraded Indiana Jones, or heck, Han Solo. Disney doesn't seem to like Harrison Ford very much...
In all conclusion what I think is, the show was initially designed to be a perfect mystery of everyone finding the truth about something. But later on the show started to have some LGBT agenda and they slowly shifted the idea of Red finding the truths to Red hiding the truth. All these manly features and things he did couldnt be done by a woman who transitioned her gender at the time when such medical advancement didn't even exist. And that no one from the blood tests could figure out he was a woman. The bones were of Katarina as it was carved K on the tree. Basically the show something else in the start and then they changed it towards something else. Which is in fact very insulting. It was a great show indeed but not for a single moment I suspected that Red could be Katarina. And later one when I found out the Ratatrina theory it basically ruined everything I watched.
What I have heard was that the studio did not like the original script. They were just beginning production and the studio said “we will cut all funding and sue you if you use the original script.” So the writers took ideas from a few movies to make the department heads happy. The original idea was to make a movie of madness and creation in a loop. A weird idea from Battle Star Galactic. Humans create Machines and destroy themselves trying to destroy machines. Machines make humanity and forget about Machine origins. A weird loop throughout time.
That original idea might have been better, but I suspect there would have been even less of an audience for it. This film had the potential to be very good, so it was a shame to see an inferior version of a rehashed idea. It's nice to know that they didn't set out to copy established IPs at least.
For years I thought Red was Katarina’s brother even though there were no hints at that. Then during watching season 8 on Netflix, a friend of mine said Red is Katarina with a sex change. I still did not believed him. During season 9 the debate came up again and my friend said listen to the DVD commentary. I told him I only watched the series on Netflix and so he let me borrowed the first 6 series on Blue Ray and listen to the commentary. James Spader in the middle of season 4 in the commentary said out loud “Katarina is Red but people are going to have a hard understanding it.” Towards the end of season 6 Spader said something interesting. “There are plots we forgot to finish and ideas left behind, I would love to go back to those topics but it would change the structure of the show.” I am currently up to season 8 of the commentary and there are a lot of plots that never were finished or brought up again. I wish they would have gone back but would have nothing to do with Megan Boone’s character.
I haven't watched the commentary, but that is interesting. Spader giving it away in season 4 commentary seems strange when the show never completely confirmed it, and when the mystery was just starting at that point. Overall, I feel like the show should be able to speak for itself, and half the time, commentary shows that the producers really don't know what they're doing. Just watch the commentary for Game of Thrones.... they really mess things up in their interpretations. We even get that wonderful meme from them about how Dany loses a dragon because she "kinda forgot" that the Iron Fleet was a thing. I'm not saying Blacklist producers did that, necessarily, but I place in-show evidence above meta-commentary, especially post-conclusion commentary. And I agree with you. The cabal was just becoming interesting, then they removed it as though it never existed. I remember in the season 2 episode, Red shows Liz a map of the situation and there were like 4 factions and world-wide implications, but all we got is "now that the Director and Laurel Hitchin are dead, the cabal and all the other factions don't matter..."
We met someone who changes dna and completely changes the body through plastic surgery in the first season changing fingerprints or blood would easily fall under those two people. I would see that has being sufficient info to nullify that argument like the other ones though
You live a lie so long, you start to believe it .Katrina is out-running ALL government agencies from all around the world. You can confirm Red = Katrina because even after the spy(Kat) died, Liz is still chasing for answers. Jennifer is the real RR daughter, since Katrina took his identity she had to adopt his life and not make any mistakes for the agencies to pick up on. Koslov and the spy were buddy buddy so it was a set up and now she’s out-running as well until she died. AND Katrina is a spy, lying and keeping secrets is second nature, to the core she has secrets only the viewer blindly sees. Tbh, they turned a movie saga into a stretched out 10 season. It gets boring at times and drags but James spader did his best work and monologues carry!
You should try adding some background music just to fill empty spaces a bit, and if you want to show examples of scenes, try making it a bit tighter and more engaging by giving some audio cue or something. Otherwise good criticisms and good delivery🤙keep it up
That's a completely fine point of view. I was just setting out some of the evidence on both sides. The show can be enjoyed just as much by ignoring the question of his identity.
Thanks! Part 8 is available now: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WEBZEPII1SU.html There will eventually be 12 parts. One release each Sunday until June 30th.
@@Half-FaceCinephile Yes, I saw that a few minutes later. I cannot believe how few people have gotten to watch your series. You obviously spent more time and thought on the script for this movie than the film-makers ever did. Keep up the good work.
I think that the writers had no clue who Red was at the start so they just went as vague as possible, but then later on settled on Red being Katarina. This then led to inconsistencies and contradictions with season 1.
I think the theory that Redington is Katarina is quite intriging. But the people here commenting that it was obvious are wrong. I watched the show in detail and never got any hint of it.
To answer your questions about raymond and katerina during the suicide episode. They stated later that he was Very high on opium and other drugs when he went there. the hallucinations were caused by that.
By all available evidence, I would say yes. The bones are definitely declared to be Reddington in the show. Not everyone agrees on Katarina, which is fine. And not everyone cares about the topic, which probably makes the story better, in my opinion.
In my opinion it makes sense if you only consider it from the bone arc forward. There’s too many holes in the theory before that. This leads me to think at some point the writers changed their minds and shifted where they wanted it to go
The real answer is the the show writers and creator really never had an answer they never addressed the issue. Just like Lost there was never a conclusion for that part of the plot... Lost had no answers for any part of the entire series. Redington is just left a mystery cause the show makers never really dealt with it.
The best explanation for Red's identity was Ilia Coscov being the "red" which producers blew it, I think they've realised ssecrecy of red's true identity was such an intriguing idea that they somehow regretted revealing at the end of season 6, so they twisted and by this blew whole thing
Sadly, yes. There are several story problems with it, which I pointed out, and a ton of aesthetic problems with it, which I ignored since they are mostly casting decisions. But there are enough clues, especially as the show moved into the later seasons, that that has to be my conclusion.
The show was already science fiction. The people on the blacklist were already largely science fiction based. It would be a lot easier to make a man look like a women than make them pass as someone else, for example. Yet no one seems to question that. Heck they had already had someone on the blacklist in an early episode who had a transition and o one questioned it. The standard you are presenting ignores the genre of the show and is inconsistent.
The genre of the show is crime. There are elements of the story that require suspension of disbelief, but I never considered there to be enough of those elements to be fully considered sci-fi. I mean, if you look up it's genre, the creators don't even consider it sci-fi.
Yes, it can. I never said the show couldn't have multiple genres (it's also a mystery, a romance, suspense, thriller, police procedural, drama, and indeed, sci-fi). But the main genre was never Science Fiction, and some the sci-fi elements hurt the overall story. But let's put a finer point on things... you are objecting to my and the OP's lamentation that the show dipped too far into Science Fiction by saying the show was always Science Fiction. But when I point out that even the show's creators have not labelled the show Science Fiction and thus didn't necessarily intend that genre, you also object. You seem to be arguing just to argue, when our only disagreement is about whether or not it's bad.
